  1. The Phoenix appears to be orphaned, indicated by the long-standing unaddressed issues with HDMI output/compatibility, the lack of developer activity on GitHub, and the fanatical purging of posts critical of the Phoenix in Phoenix threads. I personally recommend selling your Phoenix to a collector, modding an original ColecoVision with TMS-RGB, and enjoying your games thereby. Trying to get the Phoenix working reliably without official support will be very frustrating.
  2. <delurking> Joseph Rose spams the same drivel on the Lemon64 forum, the AppleFritter forum, the Plus/4 World Forum, and comp.sys.cbm. For years now. Same MO, same lack of coherent response to good-natured attempts to help him. He's either extremely neuro-atypical, a troll, or an escaped poorly-coded AI semester project. Whatever the cause actually is, engaging Joseph is an exercise in futility and frustration. </delurking>
  3. I'll gladly sell mine. It's a gen zero model (my name's in the manual as a backer). Between the dodgy HDMI display support, the back-power issue (that could have been avoided with proper EVT testing and a Schottky diode), and the arrogance of the folks behind it, I'd like to be rid of it. USD$50.00 plus EMS shipping from Japan and it's yours. PM me to arrange.
  4. Hello Brian, I see that you've been active on AtariAge rather frequently in the past few days, and thus I assume that you've had time to read my response. Is the HDMI issue I reported considered valid? If so, is it going to be investigated and (hopefully) fixed? If not, why not? Thank you in advance for your response.
  5. LG 60UK that has no issues with any other device attached to it. Also tested on the 32-inch Toshiba upstairs, same problem. What changed in the HDMI routines in the 07 core?
  6. HDMI regression from version 6: * video no longer stable; vertical jitters and sporadic loss of video signal, * red pixels appear and disappear randomly on screen. Video signal from service menu is unaffected. Reverting to version 6 fixes signal issue.
  7. I'll also keep an eye on the Yahoo Japan auctions. Controllers seem to come up pretty frequently for between ¥1000 and ¥1500; I'll grab 'em as they come around.
  8. Bad news, folks ... ... I hit both Super Potato and that smaller place out towards Ueno on Chuo-dori, and neither of them had any of the NTT controllers in stock (although they had some controllers with additional sliders that I had never seen before). They didn't know when they'd be back in stock. I'll keep checking every week or so, buy them when they appear, and let you all know when that happens. Sorry again ...
  9. I was going to hit Akihabara on Tuesday anyway. I intend to buy up as much as they have in stock and offer them to the community for cost plus shipping plus maybe five bucks for my efforts. I'll post back to the thread the results. I was thinking cost + shipping + maybe five bucks for my efforts per order for total. If anyone wants anything else from Super Potato (a partial online catalog is at www.superpotato.com ), let me know and I'll see if it's in stock. Worst case we can order online and have it shipped to my place from their warehouse in Osaka. This is all dependent on them actually having stock available -- I didn't see them on the website, so as I said I'll go in person and ask the staff.
  10. I live in Tokyo, not too far from Akihabara (and thus Super Potato). I don't have a problem with grabbing a few controllers and shipping them over to y'all.
  11. Well, I'm certainly on the fence now about buying a TI. Even though I love Bill Cosby, who was the best father figure a kid could want
  12. This is appropriate for a TI-99/4A forum? Shame on you.
  13. Out of curiosity, how much EE chops do you have? I don't know what level I should use when talking hardware here.
