  1. Just out of curiosity - to those of you who're using TIImageTool more or less regularly and who got the new release, how's it going with version 3?
  2. One of the rare cases where manual typing is safer than pasting.
  3. First, DON'T use the TI-99/4, unless you really want to use the unfortunate predecessor of our actual machine. Second, if this is the kind of output you got, there seems to be some line break character behind 32kmem. Try it again by typing, not pasting.
  4. @ballHow does your command line look like which you use to start up MAME?
  5. And there are only 14 bits because the remaining two address bits have a special meaning. Bit 1 indicates that the address setting prepares a write operation when set, while bit 0 indicates a video register write when set. (Bit numbering in the TI order: 0 as the MSB, 15 as the LSB)
  6. I did not know the name of that illusion either; learned it from Wikipedia. It's about the transparent cube (only with edges and corners), where you can flip the image in your mind and see it once from above and once from below.
  7. LOL ... lots of people can't resist to click on everything, and I'm staring on a still image of a video.🤦‍♂️
  8. OK, that's it. I did not buy a vacuum cleaner. Is there anything else to do during cruising? I was able to suck in two ghosts on the street, and now I also saw a ghost in front of a building, positioned the trap, and tried to catch it with the trap, but failed, of course. Need more practice. Funnily, I could not make sense of the map at first because I had this "Necker cube" illusion where you misconstruct an ambiguous shape; that is, I did not see the roof top on the upper right corner, but something like an atrium with walls on the lower left. I remember I played Ghostbusters on the C64 of a friend back in the 80s; this really brings back memories.
  9. Am I missing instructions to play the game, or is something broken here? I can drive through the map, leaving a dotted trail, then I press the joystick button and see the car from above, the road seems to move, but the only thing I can do is to steer left or right. Pressing the joystick button does not do anything. After some time, the car stops at the right. Then I see a person on the right in front of the building, and two seconds later I am back on the road.
  10. The "gromemu" has become kind of a wildcard for large ROM handling; I extended it to the maximum of 4096 banks (each 8K, i.e. max 32 MiB). The "pagedXXX" refers to the concrete selector chip in the cartridge (74LSXXX); the 74LS378 has six selector bits, so it cannot handle more than 64 banks (512 KiB). The only shortcoming of the MAME emulation of the paged378 cartridge is that the GROM part is missing.
  11. In fact, our university is now forced to look for alternatives to VMware / vSphere. Our faculty (computer science) had to pay annually €25k for the licenses over all the years. With the new licensing, we would have to pay €130k (more than 5 times as much). Our budget is limited at about €90k/a, so without a yearly bank robbery, we can't pay that.
  12. mame ti99_4a -ioport peb -ioport:peb:slot3 speech -cart exbasic In Extended Basic, try CALL SAY("HELLO"). As for the scope of emulation, see also https://www.ninermame.org/info/scope
  13. paged378 does not support GROM; it's still a TODO. You can use gromemu instead. I just changed that for you here. gbust.rpk
