  1. It's the pandemic. There has generally been a notable marketwide surge in older game prices since the pandemic started, led by the quarantine setting people to (among other things) start finding ways to pass the time indoors(e.g. video games/nostalgia hunting). Games for other older platforms have only gotten proportionally more expensive - usually the more expensive a particular game already was before the pandemic the more it increased. To name a few examples on the extreme end for other platforms, in only a year Suikoden 2(PS1) jumped from ~$120 pre-pandemic to over $400, Rule of Rose(PS2) jumped from ~$200 to $700-800, Solatorobo(DS) went from ~$100 to ~$500. Atari-era games have always been pretty niche comparatively but I couldn't imagine they haven't also been affected to some extent.
  2. Morning, I appreciate the tone and accusation but they are neither my auctions nor do I even live in the UK. I just receive e-mail notifications that sometimes send me auction listings for places that are not ebay and yes I thought that a large collection of almost exclusively CiB Atari games and accessories in good-or-better condition that included some normally pretty pricey titles was interesting. It's hardly the least interesting thing I've seen in this thread, but going forward I will endeavor to be more discriminating in how interesting you may find it and make a new thread instead.
  3. Big big big auction in the UK for various CiB Atari 2600 and 7800 games(including CiB Alien Brigade, Midnight Mutants, and Scrapyard Dog), XE accessories and one lot full of Amstrad/Amiga stuff. 4. If you're in the UK there is an auction hall in Stockton on Tees that has a number of Atari lots going, and available for online bidding. Atari 1010 tape drive (no cables) with various game and program cassettes https://www.auctionzip.com/auction-lot/lot_EEE42F78A0 Untested Atari 65XE computer with joystick/light gun https://www.auctionzip.com/auction-lot/lot_FD14A19978 Atari 400 with 410 tape drive, Atari Trak-ball (black ball) and CiB Atari Touch Tablet https://www.auctionzip.com/auction-lot/lot_13941C0B97 Atari SM124 monitor with what they claim is a 1040STFM in a 520STE box https://www.auctionzip.com/auction-lot/lot_539495F999 Atari 1029 printer and 1020 printer pair https://www.auctionzip.com/auction-lot/lot_8214A04A15 Atari 2600(4-switch), 2600 junior and 7800 with controllers https://www.auctionzip.com/auction-lot/lot_51F4AAA966 Misc Atari 2600-7800 games https://www.auctionzip.com/auction-lot/lot_9EA4CD9840
  5. https://www.auctionzip.com/auction-lot/lot_1CD4BAEAFA Atari 2600 auction containing a loose copy of Berenstain Bears popped up on Auctionzip.
  6. http://www.auctionzip.com/auction-lot/lot_5B848D19E4 Estate auction listing for Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Frankenstein's Monster for the 2600.
  7. http://www.auctionzip.com/auction-lot/lot_6124625944 Sealed shipping case of what is presumed to be 6 unopened copies of River Raid for the 2600.
  8. The only disappointing thing is that it took them until page 5 to figure out who RareGamerGirl is, but impressive was the turnaround in public opinion when they did.
  9. Had thought about bidding on that Xante cart but the seller sounds like a pain in the ass if you read the feedback. Buyer must arrange shipping through sellers chosen delivery method. Just ship the damn thing through usps/FedEx/UPS on your own initiative like, i don't know....EVERY other seller on eBay. This is a site that is used almost exclusively by estate auction halls and not individual sellers, so it's definitely not for the typical ebayer. Considering estate auctions are typically more for fragile antique furniture and trinkets from before most of us were born, it's not particularly surprising they'd leave it up to the buyer to choose how they want it shipped in some cases. It really does depends on which auction hall is doing the selling, though.
  10. CIB Fairchild Channel Fs, Model 1 and Model 2 http://www.auctionzip.com/auction-lot/Vintage-Fairchild-Video-Entertainment-System-Chan_7DA489197E/ http://www.auctionzip.com/auction-lot/Vintage-Fairchild-Video-Entertainment-Computer-Ch_4BA42E9BEA/ Lot of 28 Chanel F games http://www.auctionzip.com/auction-lot/28-Vintage-Video-Card-Fairchild-Video-Entertainme_66840E5B3A/ Magnavox Odyssey II with a gigantic lot of 45 games, nearly all CIB http://www.auctionzip.com/auction-lot/Vintage-Magnavox-Odyssey-2-Computer-Video-Game-Sy_6764345BA0/
  11. This isn't my auction, but it's noteworthy enough that I feel it deserves its own mention. http://www.auctionzip.com/auction-lot/lot_9044089873 It looks like an auction has shown up at one of those little local auction halls for a Xante Worm War 1 cartridge. Looks to be in pretty good condition, too. Online bidding is allowed, so have at it if anyone is interested. Note that the buyer's premium is highway robbery(20%), but it is what it is. Also included in the lot is Quest for Quintana Roo (Sunrise ver.), Frankenstein's Monster, and Jawbreaker. As an aside, they're also holding an auction for Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Frankenstein's Monster in a separate lot. http://www.auctionzip.com/auction-lot/lot_A094830BB2 Edit: Auction is over.
  12. Some interesting auctions today by some smaller auction halls. CIB set of Atari 2600 games, including Pigs in Space, Tax Avoiders, Kung-Fu Master, Skate Boardin', and Pete Ross Baseball. http://www.auctionzip.com/auction-lot/lot_0C64BCFAC8 Mostly unremarkable 2600 mini, except for an Arcadia Supercharger buried among the lot. http://www.auctionzip.com/auction-lot/lot_9D24793B22 A Conic TVG 102-4, and an Atari 600XL http://www.auctionzip.com/auction-lot/lot_A284E64B71 Bunch of loose 2600 carts, but there looks to be two loose copies of Snoopy and the Red Baron. http://www.auctionzip.com/auction-lot/lot_5504C59A68
  13. http://www.auctionzip.com/auction-lot/lot_56A4E7EA03 Unremarkable lot of Atari cartridges, with a couple of NES carts in there because why not. What does catch my attention however is whatever that thing is on the bottom right, second from the bottom. Anyone know what that is? It's certainly not shaped like a standard cartridge, but I can't make out the label.
  14. So from what I gather from this thread, this is a different port than the one D. Scott Williamson programmed? What kind of noteworthy differences in how it performs/behaves, if so? I don't normally buy homebrew stuff too often, but I wouldn't mind one to put up on the shelf next to Williamson's Star Castle.
  15. Here's a rather neat one. http://www.auctionzip.com/aflive.html?method=getLotInfo&lotref=8DDFD0D260 It's an auction for an Atari stock certificate from 1989. I don't think anyone would be insane enough to bid on this given the bonkers premium/commission demands and starting bid, but it's still a neat piece of history.
