  1. ha! ive been keeping it under wraps for a few years. had to make sure we got it done right!
  2. nah, doc has his thing and we have ours. plus we are no where near eachother. any time i have gone there from the city its about 30-45min.
  3. Hey everyone, I would like to extend an invitation to come check out my new place at here in Chicago. I have met some of you at my Record Store / Vintage Arcade Museum “Logan Hardware” since we opened in 2010 and now after many years of work I am ready to open the Logan Arcade in our original location under the Logan Hardware sign! The Logan Arcade will not only have 25+ Pinball and 40+ Video games, it will also have 20 beers on tap and a compliment of spirits! I had planned to have a sneak peek before we open to the public where I could ask the community to come kick the tires and shake loose any problems with the games. After hearing about Barry and Donna’s situation I thought it would be a good fit to hold an Oursler fundraiser at the same time. I asked Barry and he was into the idea, so here it goes! On Sunday, February 16th from 1-4pm, I want to invite all of you to come out to 2410 West Fullerton Ave in Chicago to help raise some funds for Barry and Donna and have some fun playing games! This event is only for the community from Pinside, KLOV, and RGP so please email me directly with your full name and any guests you will have with you and we will have you on the list at the door. I would love your help shaking loose any problems and kicking the tires a bit. Try as we might to keep all of the games working and get them up to speed, it’s always good to have fresh eyes on things. We’ll have a place for you all to write down any problems you may find, so please feel free to let us know of anything you notice and we’ll try and get it taken care of. We will provide some free beer and spirits that day and the games will be on freeplay or loaded with quarters! We will be asking for a donation at the door (we suggest a at least $5 but please give whatever you care to donate). 100% of that will go right to Barry and Donna. I am going to bring out any and all games that Barry had a hand in and if you are local and want to bring a game for the party just let me know! Barry is my favorite designer (especially the games he did with Python) and since this party is for him we would love to have as many games that Barry worked on as we can. From our stable of games we hope to have Pinbot, Time Warp, Dr. Who, Grand Lizard, Bad Cats, Fire! and Space Station on the floor. It’s been awesome to see everyone’s quick response and all of the support for the Oursler family, so amazing what people can do for each other and all of this from the love of Pinball, so cool! I hope to see you on the 17th. Thanks, -zespy More info from our Facebook announcement: We’ve had an excellent response to Logan Hardware Records and Arcade Museum at our new location but people still ask: “So what’s going on with your old space?” http://www.facebook.com/loganhardwarearcade http://www.twitter.com/LoganArcade (be one of the first to like our new page!) After a very long, challenging period of expansion we’re finally ready to introduce the newest part of our family! As of February 17th, we will open The Arcade in the original Logan Hardware building at 2410 W. Fullerton Ave. featuring not only a larger collection of vintage pinball, video games and more but also a full bar with 20 quality draft beers and a large selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. The Arcade at 2410 W Fullerton will be 21+ and The Museum at 2532 W Fullerton will remain open to everybody where you can expect to preview games before they are featured in The Arcade and enjoy a regular rotation of games between locations. In January 2010, Logan Hardware opened at 2410 W. Fullerton Ave. The building was originally a neighborhood hardware store that served our corner of Logan Square for over 50 years. With our backgrounds in music and a love for classic pinball and video games it was natural to combine the two. We had over three excellent years in our original space but wanted the ability to grow the record store and also build a classic, full arcade. There was no way to do all of what we wanted to do in the old hardware store. We also wanted to grow with the neighborhood that has supported us from the beginning and offer more of what we do to a larger audience. In July of last year Logan Hardware Records packed up and moved to our new, larger space two blocks west at 2532 W Fullerton Ave that allowed us to double our stock and add more games to The Museum. The Arcade at 2410 W Fullerton is a natural extension of The Logan Hardware family. Like our record store we hope to provide a fun, relaxing destination for classic gaming with an inclusive, neighborhood feel, a place that feels like it has always been a part of our community. Since opening we have focused on the quality of our games. Many of them come to us one at a time from basements, garages and the outdoors, most of them near death. Including our in-house repair staff, the folks who work on our machines are a dedicated group of fans, players, restorers, and even some who worked in the industry back in the day. We have come together to rebuild these classic games, now hungry for your quarters. Come join us for some FUN in our favorite corner of Logan Square beginning Friday, February 17th! We’ll provide the games whether it’s at The Museum (2532 W Fullerton) while you’re browsing records or now at The Arcade (2410 W Fullerton), drinking your favorite beer! See you soon!
