  1. RF screw = Red RF adjuster next to the cartridge slot.
  2. Well I drove the RF screw too much and it's seeming impossible to get it to show the game screen. I see distorted colors and hear long modemesque beeping sometimes and other times it's just a black screen. Should I be looking for a sign that the RF adjuster is close to where it should be, like if it starts showing shapes of game objects?
  3. Two 2600 related problems that are driving me bonkers...1) I misadjusted the red RF screw and it's taking forever to even find a sign that I'm getting close, and 2) I opened my Doom 2600 in vbB, and I need to figure out a few things I found tricky, including making the game know you shot the demons.

  4. I have a habit of kinda doing the fist shape, but only my index finger and thumb really grip it.
  5. Which was exactly the case. All of the wires were secure when I put it back together, even though I messed with the white pot a little Grand Prix shows up fine. When the power supply arrived I tested the multimeter on it for the hell of it then jacked the Atari in and powered on to make sure it works.
  6. Yars Revenge comes to mind - when you blow up the Qotile.
  7. I think it's the power adapter since it gives me no voltage. Neither on the cord itself or on the regulator.
  8. I'll try the voltage regulator, but i'd like to know if something can be done with the RF box on the lower right since I can't seem to get it open.
  9. http://db.tt/b0Xtix3i I have the motherboard seperate from the switchboard for clarity purposes.
  10. I'm just running an NTSC LCD on channel 3, mine's an old 6 switch from '77 and I only see the white pot from this guide. http://www.atariguide.com/help/care.htm I'll come up with a pic of the internals in a bit (stripped down to the chips).
  11. And this just in - I dug out my trusty multimeter and confirmed the console still gets power, I tried turning the white thingy to no avail, the modulator doesn't look corroded to me. Any idea why a VCS would just up and fritz like that?
  12. I was playing Asteroids on it today and suddenly when I power on the console, it remains with static. All connections are firm so I don't see the problem. Anyone have an idea of how to fix this?
  13. This is more curiosity than an actual need in programming; this might be worth trying once I incorporate fixed point maths for moving the imp along the y axis in my Doom project. Is there a way I could make some pseudo-3D positioning system like in Battlezone which remembers where enemies and such are? Radar not required.
  14. Thank you. I notice it just skips the title screen altogether, and everything but the missiles move incredibly slow, but I'll look at the code tomorrow.
