As gamers and collectors grow older, how do they cope with the eventual 'downsizing' and the realization that market prices for retro-gear is tied to those still alive to enjoy them?

I stopped worrying about how I'd downsize, or add to a collection, some 10 or 15 years ago.

It's fun to look at current day prices for pieces I own, but it's just for fun and likely to change by next month.

I will say it's sometimes strange when I realize the passage of time and especially with the Atari 2600 cartridges and systems being rather pricey when maybe in the early 2000's you could pick up most of the stuff for a couple of dollars.

If you SUCK at video games, buy an Atari 5200! You can live in DENIAL by blaming the crappy joysticks!

I do quite well with the CX52's. It's the only Atari system I still play. :)

I've never had a serious problem with the CX-52 sticks (at least, not the Best Electronics refurbished ones that I use), although I will grant that they're not optimal for certain types of games.

I will say that calibrating them is harder than it has to be. Very tough to get one working on Gyruss.
