  1. Hi, if you have any pokey's left, please put me on the list for +1, Pokey Max and YM2151. Either red or violet is fine (I prefer red but whatever you have on hand). Many thanks! -CloakAndDagger (John S.)
  2. Thanks very much, quite interesting alternate issue to check, and I will certainly try a thorough contact cleaning of my Pitfall II cart contacts with isopropyl alcohol before putting my 7800 under the knife. However, the 2002 post I linked to did specifically mention Pitfall II, and furthermore, the OP in that post, @Tifany stated that after doing the hack, Pitfall II worked. Could it be a coincidence? @Tifany do you remember any details of that fateful day >17 years ago and have any opinions here?
  3. that's a great controller, I recently got two. Work great for R&V and pretty much everything else too. Way better than the atari oem "euro pad" controllers which are mushy. These are crisp and responsive, and look great too .be sure to get the version with the woodgrain decal, looks amazing.
  4. Wow thanks for the google book link, what an excellent resource!
  5. I recently got Pitfall II (2600) off ebay and was sad to see it won't even come up on my 7800. (Black screen). At first I thought it was DOA but further research suggests it could be one of the few 2600 carts with a compatibility issue. The above thread links to a Shells URL that is now dead, but I was able to find an old snapshot of it in the wayback machine: https://web.archive.org/web/20060615235117/http://www.schells.com/7800mod.shtml So my question is: * Is this procedure safe? The above info is back from 2002, a lot has changed on the 7800 scene since then. Will it break compatibility with any homebrews such as Bentley Bear's Crystal Quest, or Rikki & Vikki? * Is it ill-advised for an electronics noob to attempt this procedure? * Does it depend on which edition 7800 I have (serial number, etc.). FWIW, i do NOT have any expansion port on my 7800. * I actually have two 7800's, one unmodded, and one with the RCA a/v mod. Is there a better one on which to attempt this? Thanks for any input!
  6. Sorry if this is a stupid question, but where is the download link for the latest release?
  7. Sad but interesting heist story: https://techraptor.net/content/trade-n-games-100000-stolen-rare-games-theft Maybe it will turn up for sale here or ebay. If so, reach out to the store owner!
  8. All 3 are great. Videos of Rezolve and Defender both looked really good, but Adventure is classic Atari. So I'd vote for whichever game can be completed fastest. Keep the 7800 momentum going!
  9. Love this game. I don't think I will ever get through this game in one sitting, even with Dut Deposit unlimited chances, even with pause button. I'm not a "leave it on all night long" and only get chances to play an hour here an hour there a few times over the course of a week. I know actual save function is prohibitive, requires NVRAM, but what about cheat codes that are revealed for each new level reached. You can put in the code from the main menu to jump back to that level? Was this an option? Could it be an option if there is ever a revised release?
  10. >>>a much less pleasant option. Thanks for suppressing your inner misery dragon!
  11. Got mine today and the kids started playing as soon as they got home from school. This game is seriously fun and has a great brain-teaser vibe. Sounds & looks great. To my earlier question, i AM getting the color blending (aka artifacting) on my HD TV (TCL Roku TV) using RF "channel 3" on the antenna input. Postage on the box was $7.98 which is $2 higher than the $5.99 charged on paypal. Very generous! So happy to have a new game, and from the time this first showed up on this forum, Dec 11th, to the day orders opened on Feb 18th, was less than 10 weeks. Simply amazing!
  12. Speaking of HDMI... will this game benefit from the artifacting (color blending) in 320b if viewed on an HDMI TV, on a stock 7800 using RF output? Or is an old-school CRT TV required for the color blending? In other words... Is it the analog TV, or the analog output from the 7800, or only the combination of both, that allows the blending magic?
  13. Next Tuesday = tomorrow Jan 22, or Jan 29?
  14. Hi TC, There are some rumors online that the 7800 release date is 14th January 2019. Any truth? Also, what will be the URL to buy? I have bookmarked http://www.penguinet.net/Games/Rikki_Vikki/index.phpand check it every day. Is this the right place? Thanks
  15. Just PM'd you, hope there's one left!
