  1. Hello there! Anybody knows if there is a difference between Dollar General's Intellivision controllers than the ones from ATGames? I'm struggling to build a proper firmware for the Retronic Design's USB adapter. Thanks!
  2. It will probably need some special mapping in your emulator. It’s natively supported in Stella as the author contacted me to have it properly integrated.
  3. Exactly. Paddle 0 is mapped to X and Paddle 1 is mapped to Y. You can verify this with a Windows machine under the joystick properties.
  4. Can you verify with a multimeter if the pinout correspond to the original controllers? You can also try the 7800 firmware available
  5. There is many models actually. The one I have here is with a shift register but you are right, there are some exactly the same as original ones. Mine: https://rsaxvc.net/blog/2012/1/7/Atari_Flashback_Controller_Pinout_and_Frame.html
  6. Theses new adapters are more or less a NES clone on DB9, using shift registers. We have a firmware for that joystick. See download section on Retronic Design website.
  7. Switching software was first made for Windows but will be ported to other platform later on. We're working on a Python version to be imported virtually anywhere.
  8. Note; All v3.2 (black case) already have the proper bootloader. Only need to replace the firmware. For 3.0 and 3.1 (gray case) bootloader will not « self program » with Mr.Switcher. You still need the manual procedure.
  9. Yes but the bootloader section cannot be changed (locked). This means you still need to press button 1 while you change the firmware. bootloader was factory locked to prevent the device from bricking. It can be changed only by reprogramming the device via ISP. note that all 3.2 firmware works on 3.0/3.1 hardware, except Vectrex.
  10. For those who bought the new black version of the USB joystick adapter (Vador), I've made a new programming software that permits to change the current controller without unplugging it. It's called Mr.Switcher and can be downloaded from our download section at https://www.retronicdesign.com/en/download
  11. Here it is. You can connect your AtariST directly to your HDTV with this circuit. Be aware that some games use 240p mode. Be sure that your TV accept it.
  12. Retronic Design Holiday specials! Joystick adapter (single) 27.99$CAD + shipping Joystick adapter (dual) 47.99$CAD + shipping Gotek FlashFloppy emulator 34.99$CAD + shipping Amiga components video adapter 45.99$CAD + shipping Universal RGBS components video adapter 45.99$CAD + shipping *** Currently working on a schematic to connect it to your AtariST *** See: https://www.retronicdesign.com/en/holidaysaleretronicdesign/
  13. This is two different firmware. Original controllers needs Atari/C64/Amiga firmware while Atari Flashback has it owns. Atari Flashback joystick is electronically the same as a Super Nintendo controller using an internal shift register. For you wico bat, I would verify the DB9 connector if it is not defective. The bat itself is undestructible but the connector could be corroded.
