  1. Hi folks Just recently performed a mod that would allow me to play my Atari 2600 on an LED/LCD television. As a result, I ran into issues which prevented me to obtain any sound or video when attempting to hook the Atari 2600 to my new television. I decided to start by replacing the 5v chip, RIOT chip, CPU internal clock, and the TIA chip. When powering up the Atari 2600 and hooking it up to my television, I was able to get a clear picture and good sound; "Great right", "Not really". I inserted games such as Combat, Pac-man 4k, Princess Rescue, Turbo, Bowling, boxing and they played fine; however, I was having issues with games such as Centipede, Space Rocks, Asteroids, Tutankham. Mostly games that required constant firing of the joystick button. The games would work for about two minutes and than I would lose the fire button. The joystick would perform in all directions but no fire button operation. If I turned the power on and off and restarted the game it would work for 2 minutes again and stop. "What could be the cause?". " Do I need to resolder the left joystick pins again?" Or should I consider replacing the Power Supply filter Capacitor. I replaced the Power supply +5 volt regulator: "The voltage reads fine". "Is it possible that the Green (Chicklets) capacitors on the board need replacing as well?" Looking for ideas before I attempt another lobotomy on this logic board. Thanks folks!

  3. Looks and sounds great! When will it be available? Put me down for two of them if you distribute it through Atariage store. Awesome!
  4. Hi everyone Just contacted Collectorvision to inquire about a copy of Space Raid for the Atari 2600 C.I.B.; however, I was notified that he was sold out. As a result, he directed me back to Atariage to request a copy. He claims there are a few copies floating around. My question is to all, "Do you know where I can obtain a copy, C.I.B., of Space Raid for the Atari 2600. Thanks all Cheers!
  5. I would like to reserve a copy of the cartridge as well. This is a great port for the 2600 that would give Colecovision's version a run for the money. Finally, a version that would put the Coleco Donkey Kong port for the 2600 to shame. Nice job, "Where were you 30 years ago?"
  6. "Does anyone know if the Harmony Encore cartridge is available?" If so, ``Where can I purchase one for my 2600?" I currently own a Harmony cartridge; however, I would like to purchase an Encore cartridge as well. Thanks a bunch.
  7. I would be more than willing to beta this out for you. I will play it on my harmony cartridge plugged into my real Atari 2600. I can also try it on Stella emulator as well. Looking forward to giving this a ride. ATASCI
  8. Hi folks Once again, thank you all for your replies regarding my concerns with the SGM. With that said, we all know that Eduardo's achievements are much to be desired, and we thank him for his continuing efforts to keep one of the best 8 bit game consoles of its time alive and well. From the packaging to the hardware the product looks and plays amazing from what I have seen and heard. I want to let the members of this forum know that I started this thread because I have a Colecovision that is in perfect working order and still looks new like the day I purchased it. I was excited to hear that the expansion module that Coleco was to release, but never did, is now available through Opcode Games; thanks to Eduardo. With that said, I took the appropriate measures through the Opcode Games website to sign up for this wonderful peripheral, but I was soon to be disappointed by the lack of communication by Opcode Games itself: "Not sure why?" Anyways, I don't want to bash Eduardo. I just would like someone at Opcode Games to let their customers, who have paid, and for those who want an SGM to be given some confidence that all is well and a new batch is going to be released very soon for those who want one. That's it! Nothing else. Not asking for much are we? After all, if I could go to Best Buy and purchase one, I would do so without bothering Eduardo. Okay than......we have an understanding of each other now.
  9. I signed up on the Opcode Games website for one of these SGM. I have not received any notice, instruction, news letter on how to obtain one. Secondly, how am I supposed to trust Opcode Games with my money if they don't specify a price and return any of my emails: "Spam Tag excluded". Who is hosting the website. Surely the administrator can do a better job in contacting their customers. After all, doesn't Opcode Games want to sell their SGM's: "What gives?" I would like an SGM. "How do I obtain one?". Secondly, how do I know Eduardo won't take my money and not deliver on a SGM? Many others have been waiting for a year or so. Can you please enlighten me on the situation and clarify to me as to why Opcode Games refuses to keep their waiting customers up to date with the status on the SGM.
  10. When will a rich investor buy ATARI and bring it back to its glory days!

The company form the glory days literally does not exist anymore, just people that own the license / copyrights etc. Don't think it would matter who bought them sadly.

Careful what you wish for. The first thing they'd do is hire lawyers and suck the life out of sites like this.

  11. Hi Guys Thanks for the all responses which has enlightened me on the situation with Opcode Games. According to some of the comments I received from this forum, I tip my hat for the wonderful accomplishments that Eduardo has done over the years. In fact, I will go that much further and say it's wonderful to see someone as passionate as Eduardo to deliver such outstanding products that keep the 8 bit systems alive. However, make no mistake, despite what personal problems one has or is going through at the moment does not warrant the fact that he/she can abandon their customers and leave them hanging with nothing but hope. After all we are not trading school lunch or hockey cards. This involves money and it is Opcode Games obligation is to keep their customers up to date: "At least that". After all you wouldn't give money to a contractor that is going to renovate your home and than doesn't show up because of personal problems and hope that he/she completes the job one day. We all have our ups and downs, but business is business, and your personal life should not get in between the two: "The optics are not good, know what I mean". I, personally, want one of these SGM from Opcode Games, but I can't send money to someone who can't even return one email to me regarding anything that pertains to the SGM. In fact, I am not alone, many others have tried to email and have the same results: "Six months for some". All we ask is for some respect, an email does not cost money. I am sure he has access to a computer: "Who is hosting the website?" I am sure the person hosting the site can give us an update. Nonetheless, I hope he does get his issues resolved. For the SGM is a really cool peripheral and adds new life the Colecovision. On a positive note, it's cool you guys support Eduardo and believe that he will do good for his loyal fans. I don't know Eduardo, and I want to believe that he is a stand up guy, but I would like an acknowledgement first before I send my hard working cash to a paypal account and live with only the premise of hope that I will receive my SGM one day. Long live Colecovision & Opcode Games
  12. Hi Guys Thanks for the recent reply regarding the SGM from Opcode Games. I have received feedback from some atariage members telling me that they have paid for their SGM and have not received anything including a response for that matter: "What a surprise". I have signed up on their list as well; however, I have yet to receive an acknowledgement as to when they are going to be available and how to obtain one for that matter. I don't want to discredit Opcode Games, but I think taking people's money and not delivering on the goods is FRAUD; " Don't you think?" Nonetheless, an email to customers does not cost money. For those who received one, congratulations, but "where are the games to follow for the SGM?" I would not be surprised if legal action has delayed the SGM from continuing to be manufactured. A follow up response from Opcode Games would be nice.......... A big SYNTAX ERROR! for Opcode Games on this matter!
  13. Anybody know if the SGM is still available for purchase. I have visited the Opcode Games website and signed up for one; however, I never a get a response or notification as to when they are coming out. I see pictures of the SGM, but I don't know of anybody that has one. I have emailed Eduardo many times, and I do not get a response. "Does anybody know what the status is on this thing?" Anybody know if this thing is real or just a hoax?
  14. I was a member of TAF during the early eighties, and I believe they no longer meet because attendance was poor. The website is running; however, I have not noticed any activity on that page for years. I am not sure why the page is still active: "it just is". I often reflect about the early years at TAF, and I enjoyed meeting with members discussing ATARI and its future. The meetings were informative and sometimes associates of ATARI would drop by and give us the scoop of the up and coming things from ATARI. It's really all a blur right now, but I did remember enjoying going to the meetings. It would be really great to have ATARI 8 bit user groups, once again, in the Toronto area district. I hear ATARI is still strong it POLAND. It's too bad Jack couldn't keep ATARI computers competitive in the North American market. Things would of been different if they did. Some rich investor needs to buy ATARI and bring it back to its glory: "That would be great!"
  15. Hi everyone Looking for a printed copy of the Atari 2600 Princess Rescue: "Box Only" Cheers!
