The Armada shoot down the Smash 3-0 today with a big 4th inning: 2 RBI singles and scoring on an error.

Today was one of the BEST GAMES EVER! The Upmonsters hit an RBI single in the 1st. The Ghosts tied it 1-1 on a fielder's choice in the 3rd. The Upmonsters took the lead 2-1 on a fielder's choice in the 4th. The Ghosts got a RARE STOLEN BASE, then tied it 2-2 with an RBI single in the 7th. The Upmonsters CRUSHED a home run to make it 4-2 in the 8th! The Ghosts tied it with 2 RBI singles in the bottom of the 8th! The Upmonsters took the lead 6-4 in the 10th with a SQUEEZE BUNT RBI and another RBI single!!! They held on to win.

It was a tight game for 7 innings, then the Mutants hit an RBI single in the 8th inning. They hold on to beat the Beamriders 1-0.

The Upmonsters beat the River Raiders 1-0 today scoring on an error in the 9th inning.

HUGE game today! Lots of offense! The Spartans hit an RBI single in the 1st inning. The Smash hit THREE RBI singles in the 4th. The Spartans got a run back in the 5th, then scored on an error in the 6th to tie it 3-3. The Spartans EXPLODE FOR TWO HOME RUNS in the 7th and 9th and blow up the Smash 8-3! That's the most runs scored by the Spartans in a game since they scored six runs in 2015.

OPENING DAY! It was a tight game for 8 innings, then the Bombers hit an RBI single in the 9th. They burn the Deadly Dogs 1-0.

The Intellivision Baseball League is back with a new season starting April 8! I just heard of this kids game called Cones. It's kind of like handball but instead of a goal there are cones at the end of a court that have to be knocked over by throwing a ball at them. I had a thought that it could be adapted to a game. Three or four cones are spread out at the left and right edges of the screen. The offensive player comes up to half court and throws the ball at one of the cones to knock it over while the defensive player tries to either block, deflect, or catch the ball. Because of the choice of cones to aim for, the defensive player has to be open to all shot possibilities. After an offensive shot is made, the defensive player then becomes the offensive player and tries to knock down a cone on the other side of the screen. The first person to knock down all four cones wins the round. Best two out of three rounds wins the match? Game can either be two players, one player or the game plays itself. The ball can be thrown in any forward direction, even bounce off the top and bottom of the screen for extra angles. The ball has to hit at least half of the cone to knock it over. Simply grazing it is not good enough. I don't know if that's possible in game programming.

Game 2: The Ghosts scored twice in the 2nd inning, the River Raiders tied it 2-2 in the bottom of the 2nd. The Ghosts hit another RBI single in the 3rd to lead 3-2, then CRUSHED a 3-run home run in the 4th. That was the dagger as they hold on to win 6-2 and win their first league championship! Those 12 runs sets a new record for most runs scored by a team in a championship series. The previous record was 11 runs by the Beamriders in 2015, and that was in three games, not two! Live from Pac-Man Park: it's the Intellivision Baseball League Championship Series between the Ghosts and the River Raiders! This series is a rematch of the 2019 championship series, and both teams have the exact same record they did that year: 7-3. Similar to 2019, both teams this season have almost the same runs scored and runs allowed. The River Raiders come into this game winning an astounding six out of their last seven games, including a six-game win streak. They are tied with the Ghosts for 2nd in the league with 19 runs scored, with 17 of those runs scored in their win streak. Pitching and defense have been great, they are 2nd in the league with runs allowed at 12. The Ghosts have won their last three out of four games, and most of their games this season have been won by one or two runs. Their offense is one of the best in the league, while they are tied with the Deadly Dogs for the lowest runs allowed in the league with 10. They also are 5-1 at home, so they will definitely have home field advantage in this series. Both teams were shut out in their games last week, so they will need to get their offense going again in this series. The River Raiders were league champions in 2019, can they do it again??? Or will the Ghosts win their first league championship??? Game 1 starts today at 8am PT!
