This classic Xbox is really busting my grapes. Now it's giving me error 13 after a fruitless attempt to install a softmod. It loads games, but the OS is toast. What a damn headache!

Most of the softmod installs are pretty bullet-proof after 15 years. Which did you use?

And does it load burned copies or only original games after your softmod?

I never even got that far. It gave me some bogus "batch process error" when I tried to do the softmod. Not even sure why. The hack was Softmod Installer 5.11 Final.

I got the Game Boy Interface to work... but now, I wonder why I bothered. I'm starting to think that "real hardware" is really overrated. http://kiblitzing.blogspot.com/2017/08/crisis-averted.html

^ That. Hey, not sure which game boy you are shooting for, but Super NES had the Super Gameboy cartridge. Just saying. As for the Gamecube, have they come up with a SD card option to replace the optical by now?

Playing GBA games on the GC was never all that great.. needed a disc, and a GC, and then the thing STILL didn't even support Super Gameboy features. You need a good GBA-SP 101 and maybe a GBA Everdrive. Or if your intention is to play GB/GBA games on a big screen, RPI3 it. Or do what all of us do here.. why not both? And in multiple variations?

I've got two 101s. They're great! But I wanted a way to play my Advance games on a big screen. Might have to settle for my Android TV.

My GameCube is being a big friggin' jerk. You guys got any suggestions on how to make this thing cooperate? I've got a Game Boy Player in the mail but no start-up disc. I thought I could get around it with the Game Boy Interface, but my Cube disagrees. http://kiblitzing.blogspot.com/2017/08/boxed-and-cubed-in.html

ive modded 3 cubes with xenos but its been many years :< it's possible i've gone as low as 125. the ones i used had some status led on it also that went solid green or yellow to indicate success. in case it is just the discs use a regular dvd, i had a bunch of minis that were supposed to be a good brand but after the first few i couldn't get a good burn out of them

If you're wanting to load GBI without worrying about the modchip, you can buy a physical memory card that accepts SD. This allows you to load some basic homebrew including the Game Boy Interface software. Only bummer is the company who sells it is based in UK (may or may not be an issue for you), and it takes a few weeks to get it.

Pot adjusts CAN certainly be tricky. Has the unit ever booted DVD-r before? I have 2 modded Gamecubes and a copy of the GBA boot disc as well and it works fine. Make sure the discs you are creating are not the problem.

Good news for you Vita hangers-on: here's a peripheral that turns your cartridge slot into a micro SD card reader. Perfect for those with tons of PSN purchases! http://www.ebay.com/itm/SD2VITA-PSVSD-Micro-SD-Adapter-for-PS-Vita-Henkaku-3-60-Memory-Card-Game-Card-CA/372026947122

Interesting. So the carts are just SD cards like I figured.

http://kiblitzing.blogspot.com/2017/08/rise-of-robots.html I look at two robot-themed video games, including the critically savaged Mighty No. 9. (It's not as bad as you've heard. Could be better, though.)

I want to make one of those classic sit down arcade cabinets that looks like a coffee table... but alas, baby can't always get what baby wants. :( http://kiblitzing.blogspot.com/2017/07/you-cant-always-get-what-you-want.html

http://kiblitzing.blogspot.com/2017/07/fighting-games-are-great.html The latest news from the EVO tournament. Which isn't as "latest" as it was two days ago, but you get the idea.

Does anyone like Gaplus (aka Galaga 3)? Because even on the easiest difficulty setting, it seems overly hectic and punishing.

You just have to get a feel for where the enemies move when they break formation. I love the bonus stages; they're very lucrative.

Eh, I just tried this very thing myself. It SUCKED! and the best part is, it doesn't appear to work. Not sure if I need to adjust the laser pot or just hurl the thing off a cliff.

What's really great is that some users describe the mod as "extremely easy." Some users need to pull their heads out.

http://kiblitzing.blogspot.com/2017/07/ill-get-you-this-time-gadget.html I paid $75 for this stick. It costs up to $500 on eBay. What the hell, people? It's a JOYSTICK.
