  1. The wire connects to the first pin of the second controller.
  2. Hi! Some times ago I found a magnavox odyssey 300, a coleco gemini that won't read controllers, some Atari 2600 games and a broken paddle controller. But this wasn't an ordinary broken paddle controller, it was a modified broken paddle controller! There's a weird wire that comes out of each paddle and later make contact. I opened the paddle and found that some guy soldered a wire on the first pin of the potentiometer without removing the yellow wire that's already there. My question is, what did the guy try to achieve by doing that? I tried disconnecting the wire to see if it would make the controller work but no. Are the pots fried or something? Here are some pictures... 3. That's interesting! I also have some carts that have things like 4 1 2, 3 0 2, 3 7 2, or 4 9 2.... Any idea what the CX26XX means? I thought it was to say CX2633 was the 33th game released for the system and CX2638 the 38th..
  4. Hi! I have some questions about the labels on Atari cartridges. First of all, what does the CX26XX means? At first I thought since "Combat" is the first game released for the 2600 and it has CX2601 written on it then "Asteroids" would be the 49th game released for the system since it has CX2649 written on it but then I saw that "Defender" had CX2609 but there's no way "Defender" is the 9th released game for the Atari... Second, why do some picture labels have a copyright date of 1978 but those labels were introduced in 1981? For example Adventure and Night Driver. And lastly, some cartridges have weird numbers followed with an "R" on the end label, what do they mean? For example, my copy of Night Driver has 07 4 R, Defender has 33 2 R and Berzerk has 13 4 R. What's weird is that some carts doesn't have anything on the end label like Asteroids. Also, I have 3 Missile Commands, they're all picture labels from the same years(not rerelease from the mid-late 80's) and only one of them has those weird numbers on the end label. Those are my questions
  5. Okaaay... Unfortunately I'm not the kind of person that has multiple 2600's I could take parts from...I only have 1x working Atari 2600 and 1x working ColecoVision Expansion Module #1. But if the RIOT chip is fried, wouldn't the game show up at all? Because I thought the RAM was inside the RIOT...
  6. Hi! I have a Coleco Gemini that works great but neither of the controller ports works. What could be the problem? Here are some pictures.... http://www.hostingpics.net/viewer.php?id=377711DSC01916.jpg http://www.hostingpics.net/viewer.php?id=684215DSC01917.jpg http://www.hostingpics.net/viewer.php?id=951506DSC01919.jpg
  7. unfortunately the last three games I found "swordquest fireworld, pitall and battlezone" were hidden in extremely disgusting paper towels and had unidentified substance on them. I had to throw them away because they were impossible to clean and Pitfall didn't even work. I already had 2x missile command, jungle hunt, star raider, yars revenge, combat, journey escape and realsport football. But really it sucks that people are throwing away their old stuff. Who knows what gems could be hidden in those disgusting black bags? It makes me want to check every thrash bags I find... No that's disgusting... But could someone check the picture I uploaded on hostingpics and tell me if that's the right way to do it?
  8. So alcohol and q-tips could clean and remove the smell? And is this a good idea to remove the smell inside the cartridges? http://www.hostingpics.net/viewer.php?id=791715DSC01723.jpg
  9. I got the smell off the case and label but it still smell disgusting inside... I don't think putting soapy water, vinegar or isopropyl alcohol inside would be a very good idea... So what do I do?
  10. Yeah actually I knew "Tuesday Afternoon", "Nights In White Satin" and "I'm Just A Singer" but I didn't know it was from The Moody Blues. Well the first three Yes albums doesn't have any mellotrons because Tony Kaye didn't want to play them or something and that's why they got Rick Wakeman. I really like the mellotron on "Heart of the Sunrise" from "Fragile", "Close to the Edge" and "Tales from Topographic Oceans" have many great mellotron moments and also "Relayer" but that one has Patrick Moraz on keyboard because Rick Wakeman hated "Tales from Topographic Oceans" so much that he left the band. So they got Patrick Moraz... Apparently he played in The Moody Blues so maybe you know him. What slightly rare games do I have? Because it's always cool to find rare but good games because you don't have to look for them and you don't have to pay ridiculous prices on eScam...
  11. No I don't even know Mike Pinder or Moody Blues... But Yes is my favorite band so yeah... I made a mistake! I did not find 58 games but 48... Anyway they are: phoenix, miniature golf, raiders of the lost ark, pressure cooker, ms. pac-man, missile command, california games, berzerk, winter games, super challenge baseball, asteroids, donkey kong, fathom, e.t the extra terrestrial, jungle hunt, spacemaster x-7, star raider, video chess, astroblast, yars revenge, demolition herby, combat, space invaders, journey escape, super challenge football, bugs, othello, centipede, adventure, haunted house, defender, night driver, space attack, cosmic creeps, kaboom, joust, super cobra, kangaroo, millipede, coconuts, venture, swordquest eartworld, frogger, realsport football, realsport volleyball, swordquest fireworld, pitall and battlezone Some of then have surprisingly good label but other are in really bad shape.
  12. Hi! So the other day I was walking down the street and saw a pile of trash bag. One of them had a hole in it and there was a Frogger cartridge coming out of it. So I pulled the cartridge out and I saw dozens other cartridges in the bag so I was like wow I'm bringing that trash bag home! So I bring it home, remove all the disgusting junk there was in it and put the game on my table and there was 58 cartridges! But, there's a problem. The games smells like if someone left them in pee for multiple years and then put rotten fishes on them. So how do I clean them up so that they doesn't smell like that? Because that odor they have is extremely disgusting and there's no way I'm keeping them in the house if I can't remove the odor. The labels are surprisingly in pretty good shape but I don't how and with what I could clean them without damaging them. Any idea?
