  1. Did you have the coolest parents in the world, and did every kid at school want to be your friend? Sounds way better than having the 2600 cart!
  2. You're not wrong, but, we also already went through an era over the last 2 decade's where every home had a PC, and even to a point where almost every PERSON in the home had their own laptop or desktop... now an era where everyone has a phone. All of these devices are capable of running emulators. And while you could make the argument that not every person is savvy enough to install and use an emulator, then the "Atari Flashback" consoles could've spelled doom, as well - but so far they haven't. Collectors will always exist. Even further down the line, when the chips fail and the contents of the cartridges becomes unreadable, there will be people who want the hardware just for the history.
  3. I recently started a post and asked about different versions of manuals. I ended up not referencing the fact that there were different revisions in the video, so I guess it didn't matter so much - BUT I was quite happy to learn anyway!! Well, I just wanted to share what I was working on when I asked. Please, feel no obligation to watch, I just wanted to share (I don't mean to "spam" my link, I just wanted to share it with you folks!). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ICAnv0f_fm0
  4. I was unaware of SO MUCH of this. Thank you all for your valuable replies!
  5. Damn. 10 files, nearly a gigabyte of scans when unzipped! Wow! I wish there were more "credits" inside the archive! I downloaded them all, and they will un-RAR if you're interested! But if that's a pain for anyone else, I could perhaps mirror them in a single RAR or ZIP or maybe even convert this collection in to a Torrent? Maybe all of the PDF's should be uploaded to Archive.org? And, yes, it includes scans of White manuals, Smaller black manuals, and even other specific manuals (for example: Space Invaders: Large White, Small Black, and Sears Black).
  6. I have a slew of them, will try to at least get you some pictures later this weekend.
  7. The manuals have a white cover, but they are not black and white, they are still colorful on the inside. Example: Pac-Man manual (I have video of it in the first episode of my YouTube show, I just went back to verify that the large white manual had color throughout the inside of the manual as well).
  8. It's tough to tell, because even games like Space Invaders, the back of the black manual has the same year as the back of the White Manual, so it's hard to be certain.
  9. He put a Japanese sticker on the bottom of his Sunnyvale Heavy Sixer. Is he claiming it was manufactured in Japan? If so, report the auction as a counterfeit item. If he's just saying it was imported TO Japan, I guess it could be legit. But I'd still be worried, it looks like the stickers on the bottom of the console were applied at different times (like DECADES apart, not just weeks or months, as would be the case if it were imported to Japan). The bottom sticker with Japanese writing have almost no wear.
  10. Hi there, everyone! Frequent lurker here. I'm wokring on a YouTube video for next week, and I am curious: which instruction booklets are older and which are newer? I'm ASSUMING that the larger "white-cover" instruction manuals are the older versions, but in an attempt to save money, they shrank to the smaller sized "black-cover" booklets at some point. I can provide photos if necessary, but I'm guessing someone here already knows what I'm talking about it and can help me! Thanks everyone!
  11. Just spotted on craigslist, Erie, Pennsylvania area: 51628M.
  12. Untested, but just hours ago I picked up #63890E (Sunnyvale Atari, non-Sears). There were some other numbers etched in the console? -NuAngel
