  1. If you have the 1MB version (like AVGN had), Skylar does repeat the one infamous phrase after every contact with terrain. If you are new to the controls, it will be annoying. But I do love the game. Nice variety of planets and enemy types (yeah the one hit enemies are cheap) despite the repetitive gameplay. At least there are different variations to collecting the pods, like breaking down shield generators, enemies that steal pods, the darkness, and warps to hidden areas. Plus, it was worth going out of your way to explore and collect extra pods to earn extra lives (which were definitely needed). Plus boss levels. The title music amps me up and I don't mind the lack of music, there are plenty of sound effects. It was impressive in 93-94. I didn't quite understand framerates back then, I just knew it had 'smoother' motion over games like Starfox. And your morphing ship was a nice graphical touch. Great pack-in, I remember looking forward to the game when I bought a Jag back in the day.
  2. This looks great, hopefully we can play it on a GameDrive when it's ready. Splatterhouse is a favorite of mine. Nice use of Digitized graphics and that blood spatter animation is very 'fluid'.
  3. Yeah, I sent the save state to Rich as well in a bug report.
  4. Here is the savestate of the issue after it happens. A reminder, if you just savestate (soft reset included) through the whole campaign, the issue won't occur. It's just when you hard reset or shut off and resume the game from 'cartridge memory'. I have not tested this with other characters. I also don't have a savestate just before . state000.bigpstate
  5. Yes, I thought that same thing actually. I found out it's not just the HUD that disappears. Also the Predators weapon graphic, pause menu, and the color change damage indication (the yellow flash you get when damaged).
  6. Thanks for the tip, didn't realize that. Yes the hashes match. However I found out the Cybermorph issue is with revision B. Revision A works fine, so that's good. For AvP, the Predator keeps his HUD screen until you do a hard reset or close the emulator (again, the plasma cannon seems to trigger the bug). This is near the end of his campaign anyway, so you can just save state it. If you want to save and quit your game like an actual cartridge with the dangers/perks of enemy respawns; Save in-game, soft reset the game back to the opening main menu and save state then.
  7. Started up a new game and had the same issue. As soon as I get the Pulse Cannon with the Predator and reload his save, the Hud disappears. Also in Cybermorph, the game crashes when I select the second planet, after I beat the first. Still an amazing emulator. I'll submit the issues to Rich, maybe he can look at it when he get's a chance.
  8. Such a great emulator. Made me fall in love with the Jag all over again. It's amazing to have a near perfect emu with a sleek UI menu come out of nowhere. Genius programmer. I coincidently just again played through AvP with Phoenix in October then found out about BigPEmu about a week ago. Playing through AVP again, and this time with no hiccups. It still thrills me just as much now as it did when I was a young teenager in 1995. I did run into a problem of the in game HUD not loading when restoring a save file, just the gameplay screen. Never had this problem, and I'm sure if that was a game bug or emulator issue. Looking forward to replaying through Cybermorph, Doom, Kasumi Ninja and Towers 2. The other games I had in 1995, plus many others.
  9. A bit too pricey for me, but...woodgrain. https://www.merchoid.com/product/atari-2600-classic-hoodie/?v=fbo
  10. I checked my local Wal-Mart. Just got in a fresh stack. I bought a couple. One for me and one for a gift. Very cool tee (and it's the softer ringspun cotton). Gotta say, it's pretty awesome to still be able to buy Atari products in a brick and mortar 40 years later and counting.
  11. Atgames wired flashback controllers are great. They are my go to controllers. I have a tough time going back to my originals. Flashbacks are really smooth, so I can actually set them on a book on my lap or a table and play it like an arcade stick. Sometimes the give of the stick is a bit 'too' much, but for most games it's perfect for me.
  12. Yeah, that's why I but them in the 'maybe category.
  13. Oh yeah, that made me think of Death Star Battle.
  14. Off the top of my head: Subterranea Vanguard Dragonstomper Desert Falcon Krull Off the Wall Sinistar Maybe: Adventure Empire Strikes Back Dragonfire Yars Revenge
  15. I did notice out of the few I tried, some had brighter screens than others which affected the colors. But viewing angles were all the same, nothing were it had to be held at an angle though. Still, not bad for a handheld you can find for 20-30 bucks new on ebay. I have to say that I have played more Atari on the flashback portable in the past few days compared to the whole last year on my actual consoles, which is good.
