  1. I have Ghost Manor/Chuck Norris Superkicks cart, although the second game is mislabeled Spike's Peak. I thought both games were different and inventive which is kind of a rarity in Atari games. Even some of the better games from other companies are generally just improved versions of other titles. The main thing was I had a lot of fun playing them. I'd like to collect more Xonox's games but just haven't come across any.
  2. AIs' are laughably easy to beat in both Real Sports Football and Super Football. Super Challenge Football is both the best-looking and most fun in 2-player mode because you have more control - you can direct each player how to block to open up running lanes or go out for a pass as a decoy or receiver. Major drawback of course is no AI. Super Football is closest to the real game with field goals, punt returns, sending receivers in motion during offensive play, but seems somehow less fun in 2-player mode. Plus the computer is so easy to beat in 1 player-mode especially when it comes to passing with one receiver split wide - just fake dropping your cornerback then rush the receiver as he's about to catch it so you can step in front for the easy interception. Real Sports Football is so obvious - only one receiver split wide?! And you practically have to roll to that side to throw to him. By the way if you want to roll up the score on the AI just choose to throw long to top-side receiver then fake out AI opponent by juking the other way after snapping the ball then roll back to receiver side and throw - works every time. Even the AI quarterback almost always rolls to receiver side for a run or a pass but once in a while tries to pass by dropping back if you choose to cover his ONE receiver and 9 out of 10 times can't complete it. The original Atari Football was the only version that you could throw to any of your players on the field and not choose just one before the snap, but....... the field looks to be only 50 yards! It's more like Arena Football and the players look like moving squares with legs moving ever so SLOWLY. Why do you only see 3 players before each snap but there are actually 4 to each team? By the way, did I mention there are only 4 players on each team?! That's the least of any of the games (there are actually supposed to be 11 in the real thing), and no AI. This game is more laughable than fun.
  3. I have a ton of games, but I do see your point, maybe I'm getting a little carried away.
  4. I have just seen a sight I never thought I would ever see... A guy I know at a local flea market got a shipment of Atari and Sears Telegames systems. Ok, the two I'm wondering about which I'd like to buy: A MINT condition regular 6 swich Sears Telegames with 2 paddles and 2 joysticks plus plastic case for games and system for $50 -or- An Atari VCS Heavysixer that still, I'm told, needs to be tested and cleaned but at present looks only dusty, but looks to be in near mint condition otherwise. I asked how much he'd ask for it when he was done cleaning and testing, he said $40 which will include 2 joysticks. I'm a little low on cash at present but I'd love to get one of these, I'm just not sure which. I have a Sears Video Arcade II my father bought for me brand new in 1983 and still works great, and I bought a regular 6 switch Atari that was in not-so-great condition for $10 a few months ago. Why did I buy this you might ask? I wanted to start a collection after hearing about everyone else's great collections online and this was as good as I had been able to find after months of searching. - Until now.
  5. I can't pick just one though sit down version of Star Wars would definitely be at the top of the list plus Star Trek:Strategic Operations Simulator and Firefox.
  6. I don't recall ever hearing a beep to return to the carrier. I guess I'll have to give it another go. Thanks! OK, it may be that you're not reaching that point in the game: Remember to power down to 50% power shortly after you take off - the only time you'll need more is if you need to pursue an enemy because he's running but this happens on rare occasions and even then only go to 99% - that's all you'll need. Go back to 50% as soon as you've got him. The main thing is to conserve fuel so you can stay aloft past sunset which is the only time in mission 1 that you're allowed to return, if you reach that point then when your fuel goes below 1000 gallons you'll hear the beep and see the center display change. If you're getting shot down a lot then: -Make sure you turn on your ECM on your weapons display shortly after take off. -If a missile does get launched toward you then simply dive then climb turning always in the same direction, usually doesn't even matter what direction as long as you maintain turning and keep diving and climbing over and over until the missile loses you. Never thought to try that. Thanks!
  7. I have a Ghost Manor/Chuck Norris Superkicks double-ender cart. Funny thing, got it for just $8 because it was mislabeled Ghost Manor/Spike's Peak - didn't even know what I had till I got it home and tried both sides and realized the mistake.
  8. First, when you here a beep and your center display changes to "landing" that means you're ready to return to the carrier: -Power down to 30%power and set course at a heading of around 30 degrees. -Push joystick forward to -45 degree angle and watch your altitude till just before you reach 2000 feet and start to steady up. -When you see the display change again, this time showing you a graphic of your ship's relation to the carrier, set your angle of decent to around -13 and lower both your landing gear and strut and watch as the blip, representing your ship, gets to near the bottom of your landing corridor on the bottom display - as this happens level out further to around -5 degree decent. -At this point watch the display showing whether you're lined up properly - it looks like a carpenter's level - make sure you are centered - DON'T LET UP FOR A SECOND ON THIS TILL THE END OR YOU'LL CRASH. -Finally, as you are almost over the carrier you will here a tink, tink, tink sound effect - gently push down on the stick - AGAIN MAKE SURE YOU'RE CENTERED and drop your plane on deck and as you land the plane will stop and you'll here the plane touch down - at this point power down completely.
  9. I'd have to say Space Shuttle in flight mode 3 - at least in achieving Commander. Also, Air Raiders - at least in playing past the second landing. But, most of all I'd say Star Raiders because I have played this game a lot of times and is it even possible to keep the bad guys from destroying your star base before you get them all?
  10. Has anybody found out what it takes to make Topgun Graduate in this game? I've been able to achieve Captain which is the second highest rank many times but I still haven't been able to reach top rank and the manual is very vague on what you need to do to get this.
  11. Does anybody know what the screen you were supposed to see if you achieved Commander in Space Shuttle:A Journey Into Space looked like. The highest I could ever get was Pilot with 6 dockings and 5745 units of fuel left which was still way off the 7500 units you needed. But I would love to know what this special screen you were supposed to see if you achieved Commander looked like.
  12. I'd like to add 5 others to this list that I can't believe I forgot: 11.Crypts of Chaos 12.Krull 13.Solaris 14.Superman 15.Star Voyager
  13. If you can't find a power supply at a flea market or don't have one that's compatible then may I suggest Radio Shack's replacement adapters for AT&T answering machines. Everybody got on me for suggesting these because they said they were unnecessarily hard to find but what's easier then just going to a local mall and picking one up. Where I come from - Philly, PA - There simply aren't many places to find anything for this system; you just mention it and people give you this wierd look like why are you even looking for that. The reason why I suggest this one is they fit the specs perfectly that the manual for the system suggests to use: 9VAC 750MA adapter's specs - 9,10.2,11,12 VAC 800MA. - just set it to 9 and you're good to go. By the way, I tried this one myself after my original adapter stopped working and it works as good as the original with the Sears Video Arcade II.
  14. Thanks, the guy was willing to sell them for 2 bucks each but I just wasn't sure and didn't want something I ended up throwing away
  15. I always love playing flight or space games that utilize the console during gameplay like Tomcat or Space Shuttle. There's just something about using those LED buttons for flight controls that I love.
