Do you have a Harbor Freight store nearby?  They have a cheap meter for $5.99.

Edit: Sometimes on sale for $3.99.

I didn't realize they were brick-and-mortar as well as online.  There is one nearish to one of my jobs... will go there this week.  Thanks!

First, please post pictures of both power supplies.  Do you have a voltmeter?  If so, measure the voltage coming out of those supplies and let us know.

I would not suggest powering it up any more until we know more about your power supplies.

I don't have a voltmeter... but I should get one.  Let me see if I can do that this weekend.

In the mean time, I'll work on getting some pictures up.

#3438057 Retro bright?

I am considering offering a retro-brighting service if there is any interest. What this is if you are not familiar is a process of removing the yellowing from old plastic such as computer cases and keyboards. I have to determine the numbers but it would be reasonable, between $20 - $30 plus shipping to / from. Here is an example of one of the Coleco Adam keyboards that i just recently did

Whoa.  My ADAM keyboard and my C64 keyboard could use this service.

Don't have a multi-meter, but it's possible one of my friends does.  I'll look into it.

So, if the 26-3029 disk drive is all stock you shouldn't need to worry about any jumpers for drive ID.

Do you have a way to test the power supply in the drive case? Or another drive to plug in?

Unfortunately, I have no way to test the power supply, and don't have another drive.  As I said yesterday, I pulled the fuse, a 1/4A 250V slo blo fuse, went to Lowe's, and they had no replacements.  Will have to look around.

Here are some pix of the drive:

Had a hard month, so I decided to take the plunge and overpay for a long-coveted cartridge: Q*Bert's Qubes.  Really enjoying it.
