  1. Am actually AMEZED that nintendo didn’t bother to put their seal of quality aproval logo on those cartrides, considering that they wanted to assure people that they are buying real official products from nintendo, also since many perfect iligal copies of nes games do exist complete with the nintendo seal logo slapped on top of it, wich are hardly distinguable from official copies, mmmm, now what i have done is moddified those original labels/coverart from those games for wich i was always imagining at how they should,ve looked like including adding those missing seal of quality labels on it, for instance i wich always bothered why on earth nintendo did made the word ‘super’ small while the rest of those words ‘mariobros’ is just large, so i was wondering for decades ‘could they not fit the whole title properly within inside that space?’ well they could and they should,ve it done that whay because in my opinion at how they have done it just looked cheap ass to my eyes🙁🙁 well hopefully this will give us a taste at how it should,ve looked like😁
  2. Well it’s very confusing but if you ask me i would mean the atari XEGS system if i say atari xe, the confusing part is that i first trought that the latest atari 8bit computer system was called the atar 65XE and that the consolized version was the called XE but if it was ment to be called atari XEGS, then atari should,ve put that name on both their console and box art,in fact i am already amezed that atari did even called their atari 65XE a videogame system, why not calling it a computer system? Well i guess they tried to cetch in on the nes craze, but still they should,ve call it a computer system and also say on it’s box ‘it also serves as a videogame system’ in order to attract both business people and parents with kids who wanna buy a game console for their kids, well i don’t know where nicronomic word XE does stand for ‘extra enhanced’ or something like that but either way atari created alooot of confusoon with their line up of XE systems wich were just old computers from the 70’s been put with some extra ram into new modern model cases and it was not the first time they did this as there were also thosecheapized LX models!
  3. Well apart from this improved hack, i found the nes version of lemming more difficult to play because you can only build bridges in a certain grid and if you wanted to build a bridge on top on another bridge like in those corners like in that level as shown in the video, you have to time it frame and pixel perfectly to do so, i found it soooo anoying to run out of building blocks for these bridges to buld, all because of miss timings, ouch, also once i discovered these other versions of lemmings i then did realize that i had many things from it, such as voices, brighter colors and levels being more stretched horizontally along with slightly more friendly controls, heck even the mastersystem version did had voices in it despite lacking a digital soundchannel for it while the nes and even the gameboy does have a dedicated soundchannel for voice samples for it but those versions of it does at average lack voices in it.
  4. Well then blame it on wikipedia because i already did knew that pacman,ms pacman, frogger 1 & 2,popeye etc,, were also on the atari 400/800 so that’s why i did’t put those games in the list, but even so i didn’t fully trust my findings that much, especially since i counted sooo many games that seems to be not ported to the atari 400, but then i was wondering ‘no it can’t be that much because the 5200 didn’t had many games for it and most games were crossported from or to the atari 5200’ but still i consider it somewhat believible since i checked everything twice, but as expected my findings didn’t turned out to be that reliable, but i do put the blame on wikipedia as well👎
  5. Well i did remember that thread wich i did had made 4 days ago but not any similar thread before it,maybe about pac land a while ago but i am not sure about that,.
  6. Well i can’t remember that i created such thread in the past, maybe about pac land? i don’t know but i do remember that i did mistakingly 2 threads about the nes for wich i was astonished about at why it won the 3th gen because eventrough i did know why it won the 3th gen, but i just trought that it was interesting/fun to look at it at a different perspective, but at the end it turned out to be a big mistake since nobody liked it for many reasons, but still,,, i also do remember that i responded on many other peoples on two similar thread about supermariobros for being questionally the first true sode scrolling platformer or not but nothing else, well am gonna do my research on tracking down my old threads and see if i could find it to see if i indead already made such similar thread about it or not, but either way it’s mind boggling that before supermariobros there were so far to my knowledge at minimum 11 platform games am mean just wooow i never knew that.
  7. Well there was actually also jungle hunt but it scrolls from right to ldft and there was no actually stop and go in that game as you have to keep going, whether you have to swing, swimming or rund and jump, , there was gumshoe wich did scroll both horizontal and vertically, there was spelunker wich scrolls in sections and there was circus charlie etc,,, so while supermariobros may have redefined side scrolling platform games and make other companies to jealously took inspiration of it by making their own platform games (whether it’s a SMB knock off,rip off or direct clone of it or otherwise) thus increasing the popularity of side scroliing platform games, but it is just mind blowing that side scrolling platform games already dates back to 1982 and that a few other side scrolling platformers already started to pop up on home consoles in 1983 and 1984 before supermariobros, am mean for 24 years i trought that supermariobros from 1985 was the first ever side scrolling platform game but man what was i wrong🤣
  8. Well thanks, now if only i knew about this , i may would,ve started this trhead, altrough i often do take a search first but if i can’t find anything about it then i do feel like to make my thread about it, well i guess i have to look at this new threads before deciding making my own threads about it even if that list is universally big and will take billions of years to pick up my wanted thread out of it,phew🤣
  9. Don’t you think that shigaru myomoto also took inspiration from space panic??? Because i do see many similarities between space panic and donkeykong as well
  10. To your ansure, pac land and jungle hunt came before supermarios (altrough jungle hunt scrolls from right to left) but that game paved the way for future side scrolling platformers, i didn’t know about this either because for 25 years i trought that supermariobros was the first side scrolling platformer.
  11. Well anno 2024 i bought my atari xe system just recently for only €199 excluding shipping costs, (i actually wasn’t planning buying a atari xe since i already do own a atari 400 but i just couldn’t resist it’s ‘low’ price) yes it only came with a keyboard and so i bought that power supply along with rf cable(18) and the controller (€16) saperately (high shipping costs not included here), but still am very happy with my purchase of it because normally even a loose atari xe system without power supply, controller and rf cable can still be €400, i so am really happy with it, even if i ended up spending over €700 with games for it altogether,if you are a huge atari fan then it is definitely worth it to throw sooo much money away ,even if those shipping costs can end up to be 3 times more then costs for the games you bough ,and despite i paid almost half the price for shipping costs for the atari xe,i am happy with my purchase😁
  12. Pretty interesting, now i did take a look at wikipedia and i compared both lists of the atari 8bit family systems i(ncluding the atari xe and )atari 5200 games and according to the list , games such as pac man, frogger, frogger 2,popeye jungle hunt just don’t appear in the atari 400/800xe list but i do think that they also do appear on the list, for what i could make out is that these games do appear on the 5200 but not on the atari 400/800/xe systems, Atari 5200 games not on atari 400/800/XE!!?? 1,astro chase 2,countermeasure 3,gremlns 4,gorf 5,gyrus 6,hero 7,james bond 8,joust 9,krazy shoot out, 10,kaboom 11,kangeroo 12,keystone kapers 13,megamenia 14,metoreorites 15,minor 2049er 16,missile command 17,montazuma’s revenge 18,moon patrol 19,mountain king 20,mr do’s castle 21,pengo 22,pitfall 1 23,pitfall 2 24,caveman 25,pole position 26,popeye? 27,pac man? 28,qbert 29,qix 30,quest for quantana roo 31, realsports baseball 32,realsports basketball 33,realsports soccor 34,realsports tennis 35, rescue on fractalua 36,,river raid 37,robotron 2048 38,space dungeon 39,space invaders 40,space shuttle journey in space 41,star raiders 42,star trek 43,starwars return of the jedi 44,starwars the arcade game 45,super break out, 46,super cobra 47,vanguard 48,wizzard war 49,zaxxion 50,zenji 51,zone ranger i still think that it is WRONG in many ways, but i guess the list of the atari 8bit family systems are not fully complete so there might be a big chance that many of those games in this list are also on the atari 8bit family systems, if it turns out that only those 5200 games you mentioned are the ones that did not appear on the atari 8bit family systems, well then consider this list to be pretty much incorrect, and personally i could hardly believe my seemingly findings about it to be correct, but if this is pretty much true then there are more reasons to get an atari 5200 system aside from it’s 4 controller ports and analogue stick or to hide some candies in that storage compartment during gaming sessions😁,(haha) next to an atari 400/800/xe system, am mean if you love 5200 games wich are not on those atari 8bit family systems and vice versa, then both systems are definitely a must have to own😁 .
  13. Oke,but the ultimate question remains, wich games on the atari 5200 did NOT appear on the atari 400/XE??? am very curious about that😁
  14. Well i suppose many games ffom the past has been faded into obscurity and didn’t laid the groundwork for future games, but i still do think that many games did laid the groundwork for future games and that this is were we are now today, because i believe that if those games from the past didn’t exist, then modern 2D games or 3Dlized 2D games would,ve been different now, but i think that i do know why supermariobros did made fade both jungle hunt ,pac land and pirate pete into obscurity, that because once mario did met both pac man, pete and jungle hunter, he kicked them in their ass and made them fled away, hahaaaa🤣🤣
  15. I first trought that pac land was the first fully side scrolling platform game and in many ways it ia, but as i have studied jungle hunt and pirate pete(being a moddified version of jungle hunt), i discovered that you not only swing on from vine to vine or from rope to rope, but you also have to swim and run & jump at certain levels, heck you even have to save a lady from cannibals, and while i can hardly call this a full side scrolling platformer but it is in many ways, it definitely predates donkeykong country 1 & 2, it predates supermariobros 1 & 3 and it predates DK king of swing, it clearly contained many elements for future side scrolling platformers, we are talking about a game from 1982, a time when most games were single screens, not only that but back then before supermariobros on the nes, you could get a good conversion of jungle hunt on the not so well recieved atari 5200 super system, consider the 5200 as the 1982 version of the nes, there were probably other good home versions of that game on other systems as well, but honestly it just blows my mind that once supermariobros came out in 1985 with it’s less colorful and non animated graphics then even jungle hunt on the 5200, everything before it became forgotten and faded into obscurity, to me it’s just sad that side scrolling platformers before supermariobros became forgotten, just ask new generation people at wich game was the first side scrolling game, tey wouldn’t say pac land or jungle hunt but they will say supermariobros, wich is pretty sad because those older games deserves to be remembered and get their place in modern gaming history, i didn’t know about pac land or jungle hunt until 2022, before that i always trought that supermariobros was the first side scrolling platform game ever and that later games will take inspiration from that game, (how could i have know that there were already 16bit arcade systems before 1985?),especially since the nes box did say ‘most advanced state of the art technology’ also back then i was only 3 years old and it was not untill 1991 when i first started playing games, sure guys older then me will absolutely know about this but am sure new generations wouldn’t know any better,
