  1. I remember once i saw that kid beating tetris, i just couldn’t believe my eyes, i was like ‘huh no it just can’t be he WTH how could a new generation kid do this’’ i was not expecting any new generation kids to like any retro games, let alone beating it, but then i was thinking that that kid might have superpowers to be able to beat that game, because you do need to have quick eyes and quick responses to be able to beat nes tetris with the kill screen, it’s just that incredible from that kid, amezing😁
  2. I did let my nes 2 toploader be modded with av out as well 15 years ago (probably by the same guy like your) as the rf out has been disabled, not only that but he also didn’t added an extra capacitor to filter out those vertical lines wich become very appearent on blue or black backgrounds, but even worse that av port seems to be loose connected internally because i sometimes do get an distorbed image wich i only can fix once retouching that av cable ( i personally do believe that that guy didn’t soldered that video line properly inside causing those random distortions over times) not only that but am actually angry for the fact that he disabled the rf output, why he didn’t told me about this and why he just not kept it in case i want to play and record something atonce??? not mention those shipping costs, still trough i am happy with my modded nes 2 but these are those minor complains what does sometimes annoys me at times, but i also do sometimes wich that i kept my nes2 original and not bother let av modding it and instead just buy a rf demodulator but back in 2009 i couldn’t find one,not untill 2022 when it was just 13 years too late wich could,ve saved me some money because av modding it costed me $40 while that rf demodulator only costed me $10, oh well it is what it is😁
  3. Haha, yep with dozens of those rattling atari xegs cartrides, you can certainly do sose great samba dances with it😁
  4. Well atari 5200 cartrides are atleast 5200 times more robust then atari xegs cartrides so hahaaa🤣🤣
  5. I remember when i bought donkeykong junior for the atari xegs system but once i was shaking the cartride , i all the sudden did hear rattling inside that cartride, i was like ‘huh what the heck is that’ i was worrying that that was a broken screw inside it to potentially ruin the pcb board inside, but as it turns out after doing some research, atari used hot glue in favor over screws just to save some pennies, but still it does makes me wonder didn’t atari just used zip toies instead to make sure it will never wear out and make thing going lose inside just by designing the cartride and it’s pcb’s with zip ties in mind, also i always trought that the handle on those later ribbed xegs cartrides were intended to make them next to impossible to fit them inside an atari 400 or 800, take mariobros for xegs mariobros for example, not only is that game incompatible with with the atari 400 but it also fits much harder inside it because of that handle, is that a coincidence?? I don’t think so, but take for example donkeykong jr for example, that game is not only just compatible with the atari 400 but it also does not have that handle on it’s back, some do say that jack tramiel just removed that handle on several xegs cartrides just to produce them cheaper but i think theres more behind it. but about that hot glue in later atari xegs cartrides is something interesting, heres some interesting link about it, https://forums.atari.io/blogs/entry/520-why-do-atari-xegs-cartridges-rattle/#:~:text=If you want to know,is the rattle you hear.
  6. Am actually AMEZED that nintendo didn’t bother to put their seal of quality aproval logo on those cartrides, considering that they wanted to assure people that they are buying real official products from nintendo, also since many perfect iligal copies of nes games do exist complete with the nintendo seal logo slapped on top of it, wich are hardly distinguable from official copies, mmmm, now what i have done is moddified those original labels/coverart from those games for wich i was always imagining at how they should,ve looked like including adding those missing seal of quality labels on it, for instance i wich always bothered why on earth nintendo did made the word ‘super’ small while the rest of those words ‘mariobros’ is just large, so i was wondering for decades ‘could they not fit the whole title properly within inside that space?’ well they could and they should,ve it done that whay because in my opinion at how they have done it just looked cheap ass to my eyes🙁🙁 well hopefully this will give us a taste at how it should,ve looked like😁
  7. Well it’s very confusing but if you ask me i would mean the atari XEGS system if i say atari xe, the confusing part is that i first trought that the latest atari 8bit computer system was called the atar 65XE and that the consolized version was the called XE but if it was ment to be called atari XEGS, then atari should,ve put that name on both their console and box art,in fact i am already amezed that atari did even called their atari 65XE a videogame system, why not calling it a computer system? Well i guess they tried to cetch in on the nes craze, but still they should,ve call it a computer system and also say on it’s box ‘it also serves as a videogame system’ in order to attract both business people and parents with kids who wanna buy a game console for their kids, well i don’t know where nicronomic word XE does stand for ‘extra enhanced’ or something like that but either way atari created alooot of confusoon with their line up of XE systems wich were just old computers from the 70’s been put with some extra ram into new modern model cases and it was not the first time they did this as there were also thosecheapized LX models!
  8. Well apart from this improved hack, i found the nes version of lemming more difficult to play because you can only build bridges in a certain grid and if you wanted to build a bridge on top on another bridge like in those corners like in that level as shown in the video, you have to time it frame and pixel perfectly to do so, i found it soooo anoying to run out of building blocks for these bridges to buld, all because of miss timings, ouch, also once i discovered these other versions of lemmings i then did realize that i had many things from it, such as voices, brighter colors and levels being more stretched horizontally along with slightly more friendly controls, heck even the mastersystem version did had voices in it despite lacking a digital soundchannel for it while the nes and even the gameboy does have a dedicated soundchannel for voice samples for it but those versions of it does at average lack voices in it.
  9. Well then blame it on wikipedia because i already did knew that pacman,ms pacman, frogger 1 & 2,popeye etc,, were also on the atari 400/800 so that’s why i did’t put those games in the list, but even so i didn’t fully trust my findings that much, especially since i counted sooo many games that seems to be not ported to the atari 400, but then i was wondering ‘no it can’t be that much because the 5200 didn’t had many games for it and most games were crossported from or to the atari 5200’ but still i consider it somewhat believible since i checked everything twice, but as expected my findings didn’t turned out to be that reliable, but i do put the blame on wikipedia as well👎
  10. Well i did remember that thread wich i did had made 4 days ago but not any similar thread before it,maybe about pac land a while ago but i am not sure about that,.
  11. Well i can’t remember that i created such thread in the past, maybe about pac land? i don’t know but i do remember that i did mistakingly 2 threads about the nes for wich i was astonished about at why it won the 3th gen because eventrough i did know why it won the 3th gen, but i just trought that it was interesting/fun to look at it at a different perspective, but at the end it turned out to be a big mistake since nobody liked it for many reasons, but still,,, i also do remember that i responded on many other peoples on two similar thread about supermariobros for being questionally the first true sode scrolling platformer or not but nothing else, well am gonna do my research on tracking down my old threads and see if i could find it to see if i indead already made such similar thread about it or not, but either way it’s mind boggling that before supermariobros there were so far to my knowledge at minimum 11 platform games am mean just wooow i never knew that.
  12. Well there was actually also jungle hunt but it scrolls from right to ldft and there was no actually stop and go in that game as you have to keep going, whether you have to swing, swimming or rund and jump, , there was gumshoe wich did scroll both horizontal and vertically, there was spelunker wich scrolls in sections and there was circus charlie etc,,, so while supermariobros may have redefined side scrolling platform games and make other companies to jealously took inspiration of it by making their own platform games (whether it’s a SMB knock off,rip off or direct clone of it or otherwise) thus increasing the popularity of side scroliing platform games, but it is just mind blowing that side scrolling platform games already dates back to 1982 and that a few other side scrolling platformers already started to pop up on home consoles in 1983 and 1984 before supermariobros, am mean for 24 years i trought that supermariobros from 1985 was the first ever side scrolling platform game but man what was i wrong🤣
  13. Well thanks, now if only i knew about this , i may would,ve started this trhead, altrough i often do take a search first but if i can’t find anything about it then i do feel like to make my thread about it, well i guess i have to look at this new threads before deciding making my own threads about it even if that list is universally big and will take billions of years to pick up my wanted thread out of it,phew🤣
  14. Don’t you think that shigaru myomoto also took inspiration from space panic??? Because i do see many similarities between space panic and donkeykong as well
  15. To your ansure, pac land and jungle hunt came before supermarios (altrough jungle hunt scrolls from right to left) but that game paved the way for future side scrolling platformers, i didn’t know about this either because for 25 years i trought that supermariobros was the first side scrolling platformer.
