  1. ^_^ Always nice to hear appreciation! http://www.ebay.com/itm/US-seller-Genesis-2-32X-CDX-RGB-SCART-cable-composite-video-sync-version-/161588265542?hash=item259f694246 There it is. Not as good as a classic CRT tv, but at least there's no hum. x
  2. Alright, I guess I've been exposed so I'll be honest here. I'm a Mega Drive.
  3. That's great so far. I know about the propad 6, just kind of thinking the feel of a new controller may be nice. Currently the buttons on my official controllers are a bit loose and I managed to improve it slightly by cleaning, though it really needs a replacement kit. I can get the GN6 from europe, which is kind of a big deal since I won't have to expect to pay 20-40 euros at my doorstep for ordering out of the US.
  4. Heya, just a quick question. The retrolink controller gets a bad rep so I imagine that controller isn't worth mentioning. So I kept browsing and found the hyperkin GN6. What's it like? I read generally positive things with minor gripes. If someone has one and tried them out, do they work out better than the standard worn-out controller? I'm also looking into replacing the rubber pads on my official controllers in the hopes that it will feel tight & responsive, though I honestly can't say I remember how these controllers felt when I first played the genesis; I was about 12-13 years old after all. Thanks, x
  5. D'aww! Thanks! Omg.. I had no idea. If I had room at all, I would have gotten an older tv but this is just fine for me. Yeah! Like Awesome Possum, and Cosmic Carnage.. Slam City with Scottie Pippen (naturally), and all those wonderful FMV games that blew us away and are absolutely timeless and attractive and endlessly engaging!!!
  6. Joyous helloes! Behold my modernized, custom-made games that I am absolutely thrilled to show off ^_^ All games & labels were home made, with the front and back covers of existing games. In rare cases I used a custom cover somebody else made, and I also occasionally used fan art for the front covers of less attractive games. Before anyone lynches me for taking an original destroyed cartridge, cleaning it and replacing its half-torn label with custom ones: it's got the sega seal of quality, so you know it's good! I use an affordable upscaler with RGB scart and such to make it more bearable to play on a modern HDTV. Overall I am incredibly happy with how it looks, and I especially love how it sounds. The secret ingredient! This took me many hours, and after spending so much time designing these covers, printing them, and scraping off the old worn labels from chewed up cartridges, I can reveal to you that the secret ingredient is love. Amazing thanks to my mom for scraping the labels with me, to my brother being supportive and naturally curious, and to my long-distance BESTEST friend for motivating me and sending me these from the US along with a buncha chocolates! So much love.
  7. Oh my god you guys. Oh my god. Also that cartoon guy's hand is plain freaky .. guess it appeals to mutants as well! o.O
  8. *snickers at the suggestive .. everything..* Maybe when stuff is -that- broken, the easiest fix is to get a new one. They're on ebay for 21-25$ just about (excluding auctions), which isn't .. aaaawfully expensive .. and it removes the fear that the stick (.. *snicker*) will break off at the b-ball.. point.. Heh. Make sure you lube it before you use it then. Oh god.
  9. That's all ya get I'm afraid! I got a Wii U in part because of the house of the dead 2 & 3 remake on it >.> and boy does it ruin a person's hand to spam that trigger xD Anyways I once read that Sega lost some of their old data, and a quick search on the internet kind of confirmed that. Maybe that's why they never re-released it? Then again, it could just be a conscious choice .. I mean Sega makes some bad decisions these days xD On a side note, I absolutely hate compilations of old games. They deliberately leave out games which are conveniently located for much more money on the nintendo e-shop or xbox live or the ps3 / ps4 store. You'll get situations like this, where you get game 2 & 3 but not 1 or 4. It must be moneygrubbing.
  10. I'm not 100% sure how reliable it is, but from what I've found online (without much detail I fear).. - you can put 32X on any region genesis - the 32X isn't region locked, but uses the genesis/megadrive region it's mounted to If you have a region switch, the boot-up screen goes from japanese to american. Wasn't tested for pal though. EDIT: Some other site says that US games occasionally get japanese voices if the genesis is region switched to JP.. and one person had to mod their 32X to play PAL games. So the answer is no I guess! Not overly reliable. I'm glad I'm just importing american stuff and leaving it at that.
  11. After quite a while of browsing, this is the cheapest master system converter I have found: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SEGA-MASTER-SYSTEM-CONVERTER-FACE-HUGGER-VERSION-FOR-MEGA-DRIVE-/201394259811 I don't think it's going to last for much longer! ..and I doubt it's getting any cheaper I'm sorry about the 32X, but that piece of hardware went from expensive to 10$ about a year after its release .. Too bad they gotta jack up the price so much as usual - greedy jerks. The cheapest I have found was American NTSC for 38$ on amazon ..
  12. Hehe, it's nice to hear that people find it worthwhile. I showed my brother's friend my little designs and he was really fascinated by it too! The price chart place can be really precious for some games, I'll use it for the few other games I got .. Also is it weird that I'm not the biggest fan of MUSHA? I feel like the mechanics aren't for me, but the music absolutely blew me away!
  13. I got Phantasy Star IV on Ebay by winning an auction last month! Glad to say it only cost me 26$ with shipping! It shows that if you're patient.. like, really patient.. and wait for auctions, you might score a game for 40% of the price ^_^
  14. That video made me cringe so much.. Pretty much my point in the end; the games don't matter, it's just people digging through crap and trying to make money off our childhood games. I hope the SNES bubble pops! It's only been about five years since the prices have skyrocketed after all. Now, Everdrive stuff is pretty cool for SNES, but I really do like having a copy; it feels like the game has more value because it's there physically, I bought it, cleaned it, made its little spot in my closet! To suddenly have all sorts of games right away diminishes its appeal to me somehow, though a 5$ Truxton reproduction won't feel like much of a lesser purchase compared to the original, especially if I can get a label and box to make it fit in.
  15. I agree to pretty much all of what you said xD It is incredibly tempting to buy a game for extra money sometimes. Look at Mega Turrican; I only ever see it go up in price. If I get it for 50$ now (unlikely..) I might avoid buying it for twice as much in about five years from now. Trouble Shooter is also a game I'd like and it hasn't gone down in price in the past 2 months, but it does float around 40$ as well. Ultimately, 40$ is alright for the odd game, though I can't see myself spending more than 60. The sad truth is that even if there was a listing for Truxton at 10$, someone would buy it just to sell it for a 30$ profit anyway. Maybe my own views are a bit unpopular, though! I replace my labels and make custom boxes/cartridges. None of the games I have will have their original look purely because I give them all a custom box, cover and label. Though for me it's not just about having games. I want to play them, and I want my future children or nieces and nephews to play them too. My custom look is mostly there to make everything look clean and inviting, and it's my attempted tribute to the old console. Technically a reproduction game would fit in perfectly because I can easily label them and make them fit in, though I haven't gotten any of those yet and I do try to get original copies unless they're just too pricy. I just got done with my last labels not so long ago: Oh, lastly.. My logic for buying genesis games is this: I can spend 400$ on a ps4, and pay about 50-80$ per game.. or I can spend 400$ on a completely fixed, custom painted, two-controller genesis with 23 games and the ability to output pictures beautifully on an HDTV. I think I'll pass on most games of this gen and wait until the games cost a meager 10$ instead xD
