  1. If your console is connected to your computer via a video capture card, then you aren't really playing on your computer. The console is doing all the work, and your joysticks are connected to the console - not the computer. So you are not "playing on your computer" per sec... The video capture card will either allow you to see the video on your computer, so it bypasses the TV, or you can use the video capture card to stream and/or record videos. But in both cases you are still playing on your console, it is just displayed on your computer.
  2. @intvdave can help out, plus the correct hackfile is posted on his website at the bottom of this page: Ultimate PC Interface for Classic Consoles (intellivision.us)
  3. These are used for mapping a controller, gamepad, keyboard, whatnot, into the emulator. You have a controller that you want to use with the emulator, then you need a hackfile to map it out for the emulator will know what to do with those inputs. If you post more info about your what you are using, then we can offer some help with the needed hackfile.
  4. The dpad issue fix has been redesigned on paper. I am still traveling, but i may be able to do a functional test this week - but no promises. I have no fears about it not working, but testing is always reassuring. Even if the testing is successful, i will not be able to rewire my prototype board until early May when I'll actually be home. Once the prototype rewired board works, then I need to redo the schematic and re-layout the board in KiCAD.
  5. here's a video showing the thumbstick and side buttons all in action together sample2.mp4
  6. It'll still be a couple of weeks before i am home long enough to work on the dpad rewiring, but I think the thumbstick is working good. I've counted all 16 directions. The buttons are working, too: Upper (1), Lower Left (2), Lower Right (3), Enter (20), Clear (18), Pause (9+17) oversample test.mp4
  7. at that point, you can just as easily press a keypad and save your thumbs!
  8. I've not played this version, yet, but is the ghost re-appearing instantly after you eat it? In the original Paku Paku version, there should be a bit of a delay for when you eat a ghost and it reappearing, so this won't happen. But this sounds similar to an issue that the original Paku Paku has: You are moving through the tunnel and the dead ghost re-manifests at the same time as you emerge from the tunnel. It is quite irksome - a cheap death.
  9. It is based in Paku Paku https://abagames.github.io/crisp-game-lib-11-games/?pakupaku
  10. I now have 3 ATmega328P chips programmed. I do have an additional 3 ATmega328 chips - i've discovered that there is an internal difference between the 328P and 328 chips and they aren't programable in the same fashion. I'll get around to programming these 328 chips, so they aren't wasted. But for now, I can start my functional testing with these 328P chips and my prototype boards. More importantly I've discovered that my schematic for the dpad was not correct. I've brought this with me for the chip programming and testing, but I am not going to bring my soldering equipment with me to fix the dpad wiring. I will probably not be able to fix the dpad for a few weeks, but i can do testing with the thumbstick.
  11. Yes, I'd hope that the big hitters would be judges, or helpers, and not attempt to dominate a contest that was originally designed to bring attention to the ease of IntyBasic programming and bring more (and new) people into the programming community. the contest has led to some good CIB releases, but not many. Maybe 1 or 2 per contest. So are "big teams" really using the contest as means to "get their work done and published"? I don't see that. The previous winners have all seemed to have been fairly new to the community. @cmadruga (and his team members) did dominate in the 2020 contest, but he was relatively new to the Inty programming scene back then. Wasn't he? Looking at the lists, the contest did what it intended to do - to bring attention to IntyBasic and to bring in new people.
