  1. So it appears to have been a bad usb cable. Swapper out the one I was recently using with the cable I had been originally using and now the CosmosEx works fine. No corruption of the micro sd anymore. Thank you @vattari for getting me to think about the difference in power to the device!
  2. Yes, I was using this previously with a Mega ST, when the unit was working without issue. However, the card will corrupt before even being hooked up to the TT. I will flash the card, then take the CosmosEx upstairs to hookup to the network via Ethernet (no ethernet downstairs), and get it configured. Once done, I turn off the unit by it's power switch. When I power the device backup, even before connecting to the TT, the CosmosEx just boot loops. Taking the RPi out of the CosmosEx and hooking up to hdmi, I can see it starting the boot process, but then reports it cannot find the other partition.
  3. Externally with 5v 2a adapter. This did get me thinking though, that I am using a different adapter and usb cable. I'm going to locate the adapter and cable I had used previously when the CosmosEx was not having this issue. Thank you for the idea!
  4. Has anyone run into a problem with the CosmosEx 3.0 constantly corrupting the RPi micro sd card consistently when it is turned off? I thought perhaps the micro sd went bad, so I replaced with a brand new SanDisk, but after flashing the new card then running in the CosmosEx, it runs fine until I turn off the CosmosEx. Next boot and the non-fat partitions are corrupt. The CosmosEx worked great when I first got it, but it went on the shelf for a while. Now that I finally acquired a TT, I pulled it off the shelf, but have run into this problem. Am I doing something wrong to cause this? when I'm done using the unit, I just power it off at it's power switch. Thanks for any help!
  5. Awesome! Thanks! The mega keyboards are completely compatible too, right? I have a mega that has some bad issues, but the keyboard seems to work just fine (when I've tested it on my good Mega).
  6. In the past I've been able to convert a European Mega ST to US region by swapping out the 220v power supply and changing the TOS ROMs. Is the process the same for TT's? Is there anything that would need to be considered? I've searched around to see if there is anything specific to the TT that makes the change more difficult, but I've only found info about the region change for regular ST's. Thanks!
  7. I saw the Mega STE listing as well. I had sent a note to the seller asking if he can provide better photos since the photos on the auction are so terrible. His other auctions photos aren't great by any stretch, but they're better than this listing. I can't believe someone would post those photos intentionally and think, "good enough!" unless they are trying to hide the actual condition. I doubt I'll get a response from the seller, but hey.. Worth a shot I guess.
  8. I had no idea this existed! It looks like the only restriction is that when you print a document, every letter "a" is reversed.
  9. That's a pretty harsh stance, and definitely not a way to attract people to interact with something as niche as BBSes. Let's face it, the vast majority of people interested in BBSes are now middle aged and older, who enjoy reminiscing of that era, but probably don't have much time or energy to invest into it. Myself -- I've had plans for several years to startup another Ratsoft BBS. Last one was from almost 30 years ago. Problem is, life gets in the way. It's still on my want-to-do list, and I was getting close to being able to invest time towards it, but then life decided to throw another curve ball at me, so that project is back on the back burner again. And so what if someone likes collecting the old software? Maybe he doesn't have plans to actively use it, but now someone else has a copy for later on when someone else is looking for it. And maybe that other guy will actually do something with it. That's why I did at least setup a site to host all of the Ratsoft software that I was able to dig up when I was looking to try to startup the BBS several years ago. So even though I'm not actively participating, at least it's now easy to find in case someone who will participate can find it. If you're burnt out of helping people find old software or whatever, fine. You're allowed that. Watching the forums over the years I know you've put a huge amount of time and energy into this hobby. But c'mon... "So yeah, just assume I'm going to ignore you." That's just not going to entice anyone to participate.
  10. I got curious so I rummaged through my horribly unorganized collection of files, and look what I found. Version 0.0 pre-release 99.2. Main program timestamp looks to be about 7 months newer than the version on Kovac's site. HELL99_2.LZH
  11. Is there a newer version that what Milan Kovac has on his website? The version he has is 0.0 pre84. Milan's Kovac's Atari Software archive
  12. Perhaps use FloImg to put the compressed files into a blank .ST image? Then just mount the image in your emulator.
  13. I'm the guy that has dfunct.net, but I'm not Swedish. I think you got me and /u/tsangberg mixed up. He did used to run the Swedish Ratsoft support board back in the '90s. I'm sure most, if not all of the Ratsoft files I have came from, or through, his board at some point. I know he is around on Atari-Forum, but I'm unsure if he's around here. I'd be surprised if he wasn't though. Steve Hughey, the author of Ratsoft, found me through Reddit a while back. Last I talked to him he had an Atari system set back up and he was going through the source code he was able to find. He was fixing a date bug and was looking at some fixes for running under Hatari. From what he mentioned, Ratsoft/XE was never released. He only used it for his own board. It sounds like Ratsoft/PC was planned, but never finished. It would also seem that any code for XE and PC are lost to the ages now. It's a bummer for XE and PC to be lost, but there's a decent chance that we'll see a newer release of Ratsoft/ST! Keep your fingers crossed!
