  1. The news site www.AtariToday.NET has been relaunched because I have brought my old website AtariToday.net back to life. AtariToday.net is a central news site about Atari Retro News. This site collects news headlines from various sources like NewsFeeds, Wiki, Twitter and YouTube. Additional there are also links to newsgroups and BBS (Bulletin Board Systems). Something about the history of AtariToday In 2003, Mathew Bacon launched the AtariToday.com website together with MyAtari.net. In 2007, he finally gave up and deleted the website(s) and discontinued the MyAtari magazine. In 2007 I registered the URLs AtariToday.com and www.AtariToday.NET to keep up the News-Site. I used the old Bacon design. 2012 when i stopped my work as ABBUC webmaster, I canceled the websites. In 2023 I grabbed the URL www.AtariToday.NET again. But for the .com URL i was too late. Someone registered the website some weeks before and placed the ancient content from 2005 on the .com site. And here it is now: www.AtariToday.NET ...with a fresh layout in a similar style to the old "Bacon" site that i love. It is a good starting point for an overview of the latest news from the Atari scene. Take a cup of coffee and enjoy the daily Atari news on www.AtariToday.NET regards Andreas
  2. Are there new information available? (Participants, Software, etc.) The deadline is coming. Please post it at www.atari-portal.de for only german speaking ABBUC users too. Thanks.
  3. The ABBUC website is down since 4 month and there are no mag and no further informations. Thats a big problem for users they do not speak english. I have opened a small temporarily alternative forum at www.atari-portal.de ...not only for german users, but especially.
  4. Are any new informations available about this cart? Or is this project dead?

  6. this was my starting point. But Atari had more facillities used in borregas. e.g. the 1200 (left side of 1196) 1190 and 1192 too (right side of 1196) 1250 and 1256 are also Atari related. But there are much more buildings between 1190 and 1265. The numbers in borregas ave starts at 11xx and goes up to 13xx. AndreasB
  7. I am 41. I live in Hannover, Germany Atari 800XL in 1987 - 1991, then Atari PC3 until 1993. Then i have cancelled all Atari activities until year 2001. 2001: AtariPortal.net until 2004 From beginning of 2003 i am the ABBUC webmaster (the german Atari 8bit user club) In 2003, with help of other users i have reactivated the ABBUC regional-group HAR. (Now one of the largest regional groups in germany) I write news, newsletter, books. I support three german magazines with articles. I am one of the founder of the german Atari magazines scanning project. (until now > 600 mags). Last big finnished project: A german book for "dataexchange between Atari xl/xe and PC" with 220 pages. I have created the JHV-videos, Atari lost videos DVD (~180 atari commercials). Searching and supporting hardware-developer and much, much more. Andreas
  8. Hello david nason sorry, but please back to topic. (Or create a new thread) This thread discuss the (pd-)release of original build roms and rom-images. (possible there exist an official rom-listing at DeReAtari) Btw: I have contacted Curt Vendel for this thread. andreas
  9. Hi yes. but only, if the user has installed xf25 first. users they can not read english text have a problem to use the emulator. of course most users speaks english, too. Btw: the translation to german includes additional an alternative keyboard-layout. Who knows, possible the next step is french? :-) The only wish i have is: simple as possible = more fun. More languages = more users
  10. Many thanks for reply, the answeres mirrors my things about the possible unclear status of the rom-files. For a real beginner, without basic knowledge of english language it is more difficult than it seems to be. Ok, i have to tell more why: At the last weeks some users translated the Atari800WinPLus to german. (These translations/files goes later to the developers after the last tests has ended) My intention is to made the first steps to get a working emulation simple as possible for all beginners. At the moment are more steps needed for a german installation: - download/install decruncher - download/install XF25 - download/install Atari800WinPLus - move rom files to the correct folder at Atari800WinPlus until here noobs without knowledge of engl. lang. have a very big problem. (the age of ger. users are between 15 and 82) - now download, decrunch and manual copy of german version of A8WinPLus to dest. folder Lately here, if the user have no knowledge of PC-file organization, they cancel all and thats it. -> User lost... But... if the ROM files official "free" and the german translations can also be included into the emulator, only one simple step is needed - Download/Install. Finish. regards andreas
