  1. Over a decade ago, Konami came out with this questionable product I'm hoping there might be anybody who played this and still has the computer (or at least hard drive) on which it was played. People from the Frogger series community are looking to preserve the game data to this, now that it's no longer playable by regular means. Even though it's considered plug-n-play, it's technically not since the "play" does not work properly anymore. There is actually no game data on this controller. What it did was that it would connect to a Konami server to authenticate, then the Frogger game data would be downloaded to your computer piecemeal, level by level as you progressed to each next one, and loaded that way. With the server shut down about a decade ago, of course there is no point in buying one of these if you wanted to try out the game nowadays. By the way, you can't even use this as a gamepad for any other games, as they configured it to work specifically with the intended game(s). Windows detects it as a cdrom drive, although Windows 10 may have a tendency to not recognize it at all. There's another controller like this which seems to be at least a little more known, which is the Konami Live! arcade collection. Help would be greatly appreciated.
  2. Why do my posts and everything require moderator approval all of a sudden?

This recent change affects ANY accounts that have less than five posts, regardless of the age of the account.  Without making things more complicated on my end, it was easiest to just deal with this particular consequence.  Posts are generally approved very fast, either by me or another moderator (we get a notification instantly when a post needs to be approved).  And, again, once you have five posts that restriction goes away.  I'll probably remove this once I get the forum upgraded to the latest version soon, as it has better SPAM mitigation than the current version of the software.  I'd say that at least 20% of registrations to the forum are spammers, that is, 20% that gets through the initial spam checks, the actual number is MUCH higher.  And even though I manually approve accounts (which is time consuming), it's not always obvious that someone is a spammer until they make their first post (or posts).

Just saw the responses now. No worries, I completely understand. I thought it was just my account and it was flagged for some reason.

And yes, I created this account a few years ago ;)

      Thanks

  3. Yeah, backing up discs is a hell of a time, and not in the good way. After all I've witnessed someone go through well over the past year and that I've experienced in the years prior with disc backup. Working with the cartridge based systems is a miracle by comparison.
  4. I'm trying to backup some important Jaguar CD discs. I used CloneCD; for a few of them, it states that cue sheets can't be made because they have more than one session. Is this going to be a problem or is it ok for Jag CD games?
  5. Does anyone have any prototypes of any of the Contra or Probotector games? If you're curious about the ones I already know about, just let me know.
