  1. Hi thanks for the info very useful! I opened it up last night and got quite a shock, there was a cardboard template beneath the mylar! I asked my parents and they actually rembered the keys started playing up at one point and they had it repaired locally. So i guess i can be pretty confident its a faulty mylar now... Thanks

  5. Hi everyone Ive just discovered my old atari 65xe in the loft. It looks in pretty good condition considering its age, its fully boxed and complete. Anyways i decieded to play a few old games and found that it as the following problems: When i turn it on there is a delay of around 10 seconds before the light and the screen comes on. Several keys dont work, space bar and mostly keys on the right of the keyboard and all the number keys. I got one tape to load but i couldnt start it because either the joystick or the port isnt working. Its gone yellow (reading the forum i can sort this) I really want to get it all working again if possible because i loved it when i got it for xmas in 88! I found a section near the top of this thread regarding the keyboard on the 1200 being faulty, is the 65xe likely to be suffering from this fault? If it is, is the repair procedure similar? As for the powering up and joystick, any ideas? Ill post some pics of it all later, if anyones interested. A little about me, im from the UK and loved my 65xe when i got it as a gift and it most likely got packed away in about 92 when i got a sega master system. I still collect sega master system stuff and also mod carts and consoles for the system. Any info would be appreciated, thanks!
