  1. I just tried to boot up Sonic-Return to the Origin on my Retro Freak, and it just hung at the Sega logo. The weird thing is, the exact same file runs fine on my PSP. I'm wondering if I somehow did something wrong, since it makes little sense why it'd work on one and not the other. As a sidenote, I've been planning to stream this hack, so discovering that it won't run on my Retro Freak is a real downer. I'm aware there are ways to stream from a PSP but A) I don't know how and B) It'd feel strange to stream from a handheld
  2. Hyperkin finally released a new firmware for the Retron 5, for those of you that have one of those. http://retron5.in/node/11
  3. This may be a stupid question, but I can't quite figure out how to place an order if I missed the campaign. I had no idea about it, I rarely check Kickstarter, only when there's a really big release.
  4. So are hopes for TGCD/Sega CD/etc dead since Retro Labo doesn't want to distribute the files or work on them further?
  5. I hope this doesn't mean the 3rd party emulators won't happen
  6. Strange that I never saw it on my Model 1 Master System, but I suppose I was too engaged in the game to notice.
  7. So there's nothing I can do to get that border to go away? I've tried messing around with all the video options again, nothing works. Hell, displaying overscan makes it worse.
  8. Lately, I've been all about getting new Sonic hacks for my Retro Freak. I've been trying to find Sonic 1 Special Version. The site all the YT videos link to doesn't appear to work, and it seems like the last video the guy uploaded was 2 years ago, so I have little hope of getting into contact with him. I'd appreciate it if anyone here had a copy of the hack that they could send me or point me to a working download. Edit-It has been solved. Actually the first game I've ever needed to change from .gen to .md http://editchris.sonicgamesdimension.net/Sonic%201%20Special%20Version/5.5%20(SGD%20HC%20Release)/
  9. I guess it's a good thing I skipped over the At Games consoles after wanting them at first, then. Once I did some research though, they just sounded worse and worse. The Retro Freak is really like a million times better.
  10. Last time I tried that (a few days ago shortly before I posted this), nothing helped. For some reason, doing so made my patch stop working. I ended up having to delete it and re add it to get it to work again. I suppose it wouldn't hurt to try again (maybe all three at the same time?)
  11. I have never ever had to change a file name extension (only the actual game title in cases like imports), and I have probably close to 300 games installed (somehow a tiny fraction of my overall collection) Probably over half of my Genesis games are in .md format, and I believe most of the games I actually dumped via cart were that format.
  12. Probably cause you don't actually need to write the request to the SD card for the current update. Try deleting the file and then adding stuff to the SD card. Just get the update file straight from online.
  13. Anyone get a problem like this on Sega Master System games? It appears to only happy on SMS games.
  14. I take it there's no way to play aftermarket games like Sacred Line on the Retro Freak? It wouldn't fit. Guess I'll have to play it on my actual Genesis. Not a huge deal, especially since aftermarket saves are likely safe for at least a good decade.
  15. Any update on RetroLabo releasing the emulators (since from what I've heard, the system specific updates were the sole reason he didn't, and those are gone now)?
