  1. Thanks guys! Sorry for the late response here. My brother had the Colecovision and it was put I storage once we had an NES and SNES. We got it out a few times but I was so used to Nintendo controls, this thing felt extremely foreign.
  2. I don't have ads either! I am just putting out the good word after I put in the time to get it. You don't have to click if you don't want to.
  3. With everything that has been happening with RVGS and the Coleco Chameleon, I have been doing my best to write about the larger narrative taking place surrounding retro gaming. My interest in the Chameleon was my gateway into this community. I have talked with Eli from Piko Interactive, J-F from Collectorvision, and now I give you an in depth conversation with our very own Carl Williams from RGM. http://www.nintendoloveaffair.com/2016/03/retro-gaming-magazine-gets-physical.html He gives his take on what retro gaming really is, the state of the community, and if there is room for a cartridge console.
  4. I am not really sure where to post this question but I figured this would as good a place as any. I have very vague memories of my brothers Colecovision when I was younger. We had a system with a good amount of pack in titles (6-9 including Donkey Kong). I also remember using these very odd looking controllers. They had colored trigger buttons as well as the telephone button layout and a joystick. Could anyone give me some insight into these things? Can anyone help me with what CV set we actually had when I was younger? Thank you!
  5. Hey all! I was able to have an exclusive interview with the founder of CollectorVision Games regarding Sydney Hunter and the Curse of the Mayans. They give a little insight into the game and how it will use the Wii U hardware. http://www.nintendoloveaffair.com/2016/03/collectorvision-reveals-sydney-hunter.html
  6. Hey all. I thought I would put this out there for you guys to check out. I was able to hold an interview with J-F from CollectorVision. Most of the discussion was about Sydney Hunter and the Curse of the Mayans but he does give a little insight into their involvement with RVGS. http://www.nintendoloveaffair.com/2016/03/collectorvision-reveals-sydney-hunter.html
  7. Look at this "trailer" RVGS put out for the Chameleon launch lineup. http://www.nintendoloveaffair.com/2016/01/coleco-chameleon-launch-titles-unveiled.html The whole campaign was deceptive from the start. Mike was out of control from the beginning.
  8. Align is a poor choice of words here. They were not allies anymore than Yacht Club Games is "aligned" with Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft... and Steam. They were simply making their games available for another platform. Mike was the one that was dropping their name like crazy, as well as InterWorks by the way, who never said a word about the Coleco Chameleon. Mike is responsible for how much the Piko and Collectorvision and InterWorks brands are tied up with RVGS. But you can make them an enemy if you wish I suppose.
  9. Collectorvision and Piko Interactive have done everything they can to stay out of the middle of this whole thing. I have talked with them both and I can assure you they are staying as neutral as possible. They are up for any platform they can put their games on. They don't want to burn bridges and they want to get their games in front of as many people as possible. Don't drag them down with RVGS,
  10. So let's say Mike does come back with something new. Let's pretend that guy has the gall to do it again. What do we do? It is a shame that this guy can continually be deceptive and misleading and STILL get so much attention. This guy and this project is like the loud kid in the room. He just wants attention and we are giving it to him. I am guilty of it. I have written my share of articles about the Chameleon project because it is an interesting, dramatic story. But, just like that kid in the classroom, take away the audience and you will see the behavior disappear. I'm starting to feel sorry for the guy. Maybe there is something wrong? Why is trying SO HARD to pull the wool over everyone's eyes? Was he always so disreputable? Was he ever loved by this community?
  11. If you guys haven't already, you may want to check out my interview with Piko Interactive. They have been prepared for the post-Chameleon world all along and are doing some pretty awesome things! http://www.nintendoloveaffair.com/2016/02/peek-inside-piko-interactive.html Full disclosure, I am the editor for Nintendo Love Affair. We recently published our own conclusion to the Chameleon story. We really want to boil it all down to what, in the end, we actually knew about the Chameleon and RVGS. http://www.nintendoloveaffair.com/2016/02/coleco-chameleon-kickstarters-fails-to.html
  12. I think they summed it up pretty well over at RGM... ICYMI http://retrogamingmagazine.com/2016/02/22/coleco-chameleon-at-new-york-toy-fair-snes-mini-under-glass/
  13. We have to do whatever we can to stop this. We have to get the truth out there. That shyster will take advantage of people. Even if he comes up short of his goal the Chameleon project will be bad juju for the retro scene. Nostalgia is a powerful thing... his words might sway the casual and leave a bad taste in their mouth after it fails.
  14. I have put together resource pages for all of the upcoming launch titles. Check them out for a blast from the past! Game play videos and more. http://www.nintendoloveaffair.com/2016/01/coleco-chameleon-launch-titles-unveiled.html
