  1. I want to know about you. Is there any truth to the allegations that you haven't paid your writers for months? A fairly prominent games journalist has told me that this has been the case. Also, why are you shipping issue 11 when several people have said they have not received issue 10? Finally, if you are grateful people helped you see the light, why did you delete and ban critical feedback on your Facebook page? I run a business and the only time I delete content is if the person is being abusive or a troll. I don't delete criticism; rather, I respond to it and attempt to assuage the person's concerns. That only makes you look better. And when I have banned someone it has been a disciplinary measure and I unblock them later when they have had time to calm down. I've actually won over customers doing that because they realized how unreasonable they were acting as trolls (many were kids). Your actions make it seem like you were hiding something. I admit it could be bad business practice, but people also engage in the same behavior when they are trying to hide something. So which is it and why?
  2. If you bother to look at the time stamp you'll see it is around the time I made my comment. How about this? Don't interact with me and leave me alone. Your abuse of me does absolutely nothing to contribute to this discussion and quite frankly I am sick of you. I've not attacked you once before my interactions with you. Your self-esteem must be low if you get jollies attacking people so that you can prop your own ego. I'm not sure what I did to antagonize you, aside from a comment you clearly misunderstood. As for low post counts, if this is how people treat people on this forum then I don't want any part. I experience plenty of abuse on social media and I don't need it here. This is the second time I've been jumped on this topic and quite frankly I am sick of it. If this is the way people in this community act then my post count will remain low. I paid for a single month because of this topic and I did so to thank the people here. I wasn't sure if I would remain and so I did not pay another month. Crap like this will only assure that I don't. I have advocated for this forum, posted all the news from here, and promoted it all while this was happening. I think I deserve just a little respect, even though you should act respectful regardless. I'm done with you.
  3. I'm sick of his lying. I'm sorry you chose to interpret it that way and maybe I wasn't clear. Your creepy obsession with my post history is just that: creepy. If I see a topic that interests me then I'll post there. I don't need your validation.
  4. I haven't had time to look at the previous posts, so I might have missed something, I heard the news earlier today through CUPodcast. Is it me or does it seem shady that Mike apparently did business with a known fraud (or so I've heard via Pat and Ian's podcast) and then threw him under the bus (the second time he has done that that I know of) in a bid to save his own reputation? Plus, I've been told by someone in the know that he supposedly hasn't even paid his Retro Magazine writers for many months. I am going to call a spade a spade. While it is my hope that he is sincere, I would never trust him. Everything he touches comes across as extremely shady (GameGavel, Retro Magazine, RetroVGS/CC, etc.). If anyone tries to throw money at his ventures (and I am sure that there will be more) knowing his past then they deserve to lose their money. I do believe the man can change, but I think one sign that he has done so is to back away from all his private ventures and work for someone else (if anyone will take him at this point). And don't ever put him in a position where he can con people. I'm sorry if this is unnecessarily harsh. I am just sick of this song and dance.
  5. Actually, I'd prefer if you quit addressing or talking to me because you sound like an abusive person. Any reasonable person would discuss any issue that they had with what I said instead of resorting to tactics attacking my intelligence. That speaks volumes about the type of person you are. If I could somehow block you then I would. Please quit talking to me, unless it is to apologize for how you choose to address me.
  6. I'm not your "honey" nor your "child" and I'd appreciate if you didn't use condescending names in reference to me. As for everything else, it is a personal preference and I really don't see myself convincing you. Thankfully the world doesn't revolve around one person's particular set of interests or disinterests. :-)
  7. At that rate almost anything can be considered "me culture". Did you write a book and sell it for profit with your name on the cover? Me culture. Star in a movie? Me culture. Did you study hard and get good grades in the hope of landing a good job? Me culture. I see nothing wrong with people monetizing their interests since I believe time is valuable and people should place value on their work. If people don't like it then no one is forcing them to pay for it or view it. Also, there are (legal) ways to remove ads (YouTube Red) and the creator still makes a cut. It depends on what you desire. Personally, I like podcasts, Let's Plays, and similar things from YouTubers. Not everyone needs to like that.
  8. I wouldn't necessarily pass judgment on someone for several failed ventures. Startup culture is replete with stories of people who have failed several times, learned from it, and eventually some strike it rich. No. I judge MK for being a liar and overall very shady.
  9. I don't know enough about the tech (I'm a software guy, not a hardware one), but if you made it sort of like the Flashback with a bunch of games on it and interchangeable arcade plates (for example, you could make it look like a Donkey Kong arcade and later a Pac-Man arcade) then I think that would be neat. I'd probably pay $30 for it.
  10. Wow. He needs to hire a PR person. Between this and deleting critical comments and blocking critics he has absolutely no clue on how to speak to customers or potential customers. You win people over through persuasion, not insulting their intelligence. I understand blocking many trolls, but most critics don't fall under that camp. And the trolls that have pestered him have made valid points. I hope to never see anything from him again, though. I kind of doubt it, unless he changes his identity.
  11. If that were the case then he should've said something. As several in this topic have stated, this saga would've played out a whole lot differently if he just asked for money to kickstart a prototype and didn't pretend to have one.
