  1. So when JFK said "Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country." - which one of us was he referring to?
  2. Oh yeah I get that newsletter! That works! Think I've been signed up for quite a while, first thing I got from you was the PCB version of SFX for Lynx, so long time fan!
  3. Nice! Keep us updated here too, for those of us off social these days! I would love to have one!
  4. Wow, that's really interesting. I was big into Troma in my youth, meeting (and talking for quite a while) with Lloyd several times, I've got quite many things signed by him, and I have all the Tromadance festival DVDs. I wonder if there's any Nuon mention on those. I don't think I've watched them since I've known what a Nuon is haha. It would have been really cool if they'd Nuon enhanced that year's DVD lol. (Or heck, any Troma DVD given the relationship - Troma were some of the first putting out their movies on DVD, with Tromeo and Juliet being one I bought with my first player around 98/99. Too bad they didn't collab on a DVD! That Toxie set would have been cool.
  5. I got Circus from Collectorvision. While not advertised as a Phoenix game, when I ran on my Phoenix it said F17/Phoenix version with an option to press 9 for the normal version. If I don't press 9, everything is glitched and flickery and not playable. The player is in the border at the bottom of the screen etc. If I press 9 to play the normal version it seems fine. Anyone know what's up here? It almost seems like they were gonna make it for Phoenix then gave up without removing the code. I've got the latest stuff installed on my Phoenix and other games are fine. This happen for others? (Collectorvision's contact form is a 404 right now as well)
  6. I talked to him on eBay, the line about the parts being out of stock was old and just not updated, I was able to order a couple after talking to him, and I think he'll update that line. Sounds like he does sell on etsy as well, but he told me to order on eBay and thanked me for pointing out that line saying they weren't in stock. If you wanna be sure they were really responsive to my messages, so contact them.
  7. Oh I thought it could use its FPGA to simulate bupchip - is what you are describing what the Stone Age Gamer copy is doing?
  8. Just curious, will the ROM that you get from the Steam install work with music on the 7800GD? I see Stone Age Gamer offering it with a 7800GD but they never had them in stock when I could afford them. Got my 7800GD here at AtariAge but would like to play Rikki & Vikki on it, if it doesn't need a special ROM that only Stone Age Gamer has. I have the real cart, so I haven't bought the Steam version, but would for the ROM if I can use it in my cart!
  9. Just a question of how to categorize things honestly. With this acquisition, should all games sold on the AtariAge store, for Atari consoles, be considered to be officially 'licensed by Atari'? I honestly was never sure if some of them were or not already, as many certainly appeared official and I figured AtariAge was too big to just use logos willy nilly and get away with it, but I'm not 100% sure. This question applies to all such games to, from Atari stuff like Tempest for 5200, to physical homebrew/indie stuff like Grizzards.
  10. I believe they said they were deciding what to do with them going forward, so may want to hold off until that is decided. Would be a good question for the suggested FAQ.
  11. Yeah seems like there's already less transparency than we're used to here. I definitely want to be part of the community here still, but between that, Atari's NFT shenanigans, and just other stuff I haven't liked about them, they have a lot to prove. In our hobby sometimes we're stuck ordering from someone we'd rather not (I'd rather not support Amazon but it is about the only way to get quick electronic parts asap mid-project where I live now that everyone local either closed or stopped selling that stuff). I'll likely check for other sources of items before getting them here, and won't feel the need to get something just because it is exclusive, but I'm not gonna refuse to shop here at all or anything. If I see them treat Al and the fans right over a couple years I'll feel a lot better about them, especially if they cut out the NFT crap as well. That's a big downer for me, and something I don't think any of the fans they are trying to appeal to here are happy about, though there may be an outlier or two. To see it go from feeling like we could ask Al anything and get an honest answer, to questions like that just not being addressed, is definitely reminding me of things places I worked for went through, and in my cases, never went well, so I feel like I'm getting the foreshadowing life has taught me. Mine were all surrounded by promises of stability and minimal changes as well. Ultimately they were about a big paycheck for someone or a group at the top, which I definitely think Al deserves, so long as it isn't at the cost of AtariAge, whether soon or in 5 years. I may have missed it as I haven't had time to read the entire thread, but a good bit of it, and it honestly wouldn't change much about how I feel, but I don't believe we've even gotten an "I'm not allowed to talk about that", like the questions can't be addressed at all and his hands are tied. I mean we obviously won't be able to hear about it if Al has any negative thoughts about Atari now (and perhaps even if he departs for a while, depending on agreements), and that alone is insight from a valuable person we'll be losing, but comes with the territory. This is definitely nothing against Al - this is me hoping things will go the way Al says and hopefully the way Al wants them to, cause he's always done a great job. I'm just hoping he made a good decision for himself and the rest of us, which I guess only time will tell. I also hope Atari shapes more into something for gamers, and the majority of gamers would love to see them stop the non-gaming side-projects (even if they use gaming related pics) that are a bit off putting to many of us. This is meant to express both concern and hope, and I don't want it to be taken the wrong way. I love it here, but I just went through seeing my retro gaming community shattered a bit on Twitter. I know Atari is no Elon in most ways from wealth to attitude, but I'm also not quite sure what they are yet, and will need that demonstrated over time to feel good about it all.
  12. Looking around I haven't had much luck and am very late to this, but if anyone does know where physical copies can be found currently, please let me know! Definitely understand if they just aren't out there anymore.
  13. Also, unrelated to the previous question. Will this affect the ability to order carts of any ROM we upload (with the caveat of homebrew/hacks requiring permission as always)? Especially some of the unlicensed stuff. I could see someone ignoring AtariAge taking more interest when there's a bigger entity to go after. I'm assuming at the very least, new releases from Atari would fall under the homebrew rule, and you probably wouldn't take a ROM of Berzerk+ for example.
  14. I feel like this has been asked, and I hate to be the 'I didnt read all 33 pages' guy, but I did read the past few dozen posts. However, I'm curious as to what guarantees, if any, are in place? Could they fire Al next month? Next year? Shut it all down suddenly? The company I currently work for had no 'intention' of any major changes when they bought the previous company a couple years ago. A lot of my friends are out of work and our product is no longer being developed now. Our CEO who would remain our manager and was 'in this with us' was gone within 6 months.
  15. Just looking through this thread. I have one of each, white label reverse, orange label forward entry. I could only open the forward entry one, and maybe this isn't that rare, though I have opened a few dozen INTV carts, it is the first I've seen with a metal shield wrapped entirely around it, soldered together and to the board. You can only read the board version at the top and see the pins at the bottom, viewing chips would take some desoldering. There's a number, I forget what but two digits, written on the metal shield with a marker. I'm guessing that's perhaps an inspector number or something. Is that common?
