How do you guys organize your consoles?
chuckwalla replied to Matt300ZXT's topic in Classic Console Discussion
For many years now i've been using plastic sterilite boxes. They keep everything clean and organized (or at least somewhat organized). They're cheap, tough, and stackable (up to the ceiling in my case). Here's a chunk of my collection (OCD to be more exact but it's better in recent years as I sold off a good part of my collection)... -
Crue Ball - Genesis Frogger - ColecoVision and 2600 Mr. Robot and his Robot Factory - Commodore 64 (VICE emulator)

That's interesting. I just recently revisited the Retrogaming Times newsletter site (http://www.classicplastic.net/trt/arclegacy/legacyindex.html) for nostalgia purposes. As for Frogger, I think most ports were excellent - meaning just plain fun with adequate graphics and sound effects. It's definately one of my favorite arcade games and ports to home systems.

A discussion: What's the most remarkable thing about the 2600?
chuckwalla replied to Keatah's topic in Atari 2600
The simplicity of gameplay; The controllers. I still love the CX-40 joystick and paddle controllers; Nice graphics on many games (Activision, Imagic for starters); Variety of genres - shooting, racing, strategy, sports, adventure, etc.; Solid hardware. -
38,410 I loved this game the first time I played it at my cousin's house (he got the ColecoVision and all of the launch titles when they were released - man was I jealous). I played Apple Panic on my Vic-20 and loved it but this blew it away. Some don't like these types of games but I enjoy them. Love the little musical score upon the competion of each level...

It's a VICE-2.4 (C-64 emulator) playing Dino Eggs, Beach Head, and Archon (playing as the Light side).

I've had problems running CoolCV on my PC's (using both dual-core and quad-core CPU's; using the built-in Intel-graphics chip and NVIDIA graphics card, etc.) the gameplay is a little choppy and the control has some latency. Using ColEm, the control and gameplay seem on par with the original hardware. Seems that CoolCV is the preferred emulator among the community - ColEm just works a little better for me - why? I don't know.
