  1. I pulled every chip on the ram and rom cards and all chips on the motherboard used detoxit on both the sockets and the chip pins, replaced all chips and inspected them for proper seating after I air dried everything and the same result, Green Screen and if I flip the power on and off I will get a very grainy memo pad or if the only cart i have is in I can kinda make out basketball court. FRUSTRATING...i even tried adjusting the knob on the rom card all that did was take the green screen to blue or red
  2. Very comfortable...I've been an IT Tech for 25 years, and I mod video game systems...i just do not know what to do here ..i also already reseated the boards so I will do the chips next
  3. I am having this problem with a stock 400 when you pulled the C014599A chip did you just leave it out or did you have a replacement? This has been very frustrating for me.
  4. Ok, new ps came in and now it will sometimes start with a Green Screen and sometimes it will flash the Memo Pad and 1 lucky time i got a stable screen on the memo pad and could type. What should my next thing be to fix this issue?
  5. I live in Florida..I would probably use Bests Electronics because I would rather have NEW OLD STOCK if possible
  6. And how would i check it under load, pull the cover off and test the terminals on the plug with it on?
  7. Yes...but its Amazon if ot doesnt do it ill send it back for my $13...got to love the return policy
  8. Tested the supply and its putting out 11.2vac so its over powered. So i guess i will need a proper Atari power supply
  9. I understand that..but the screen shot is from the link in last message is straight from Amazon where I bought it...I was just trying to understand where you got the ac dc from... someone else responded that the green screen is a problem woth the ram or rom card....i do appreciate the advice
  10. not sure what you are looking at but on the Amazon ad that I attached it does not say AC DC, is that German?
  11. I bought it about 6 years ago and didnt have a ps so it sat in a tub while I worked on other projects. I really didnt want it but since I haven't gotten an XL or XE I decided to get a PS for it. So lets take the PS out of the equation what else can it be or is there an AV mod that may bypass this issue? Also where can I get a good PS for it, Best Electronics?
  12. The description does not say anywhere in there that it is AC-DC but it does say 9-12 V in the pic. That being said could it just be that it is under powered?
  13. VoltxAmps=Watts so it 9watts Also I do not know who to test for AC vs DC volts using a multimeter
