  1. Got a Vic 20 in the box at an estate sale for $16USD the other day. Now to find some software for it.
  2. Agreed for the printing, mistakes get expensive with a 3d printer, but for my vacuuforming plan I'll have somewhat of an easier go with the measurements. Planning on using 2 controller cases to make the form to draw the plastic over, so those measurements should be an exact fit thanks to the nature of the process used. The only variable I'm going to run in to is going to be the thickness of the plastic itself, and I plan on going as thick as I can for durability. More thank likely it won't be exact, but i'll be functional. As for other configurations of the tray, all I'd have to do is rotate one of the controller bases from the spy hunter configuration, so that'll be easy enough. Biggest thing for my efforts will be finding a thick enough plastic and the right amount of vacuum pressure, but mistakes are cheap enough in the process that it won't really matter if it takes a few tries to get the right balance. Honestly, judging by the pictures and the low production cost associated with vacuuforming, I wouldn't be surprised if that's how the originals were produced in the first place.
  3. Close enough to give me a basis to test some things. If it's close to 2mm, I could probably manage that with the vacuum I have, if it's closer to 4mm I might need a bigger one, or a couple of shop vacs. I'll look in to it. Been thinking about building a new vacuu-form table anyways for some other projects. I'll bump this in a couple of months when I have the time to really mess with it. Might be able to make some viable reproductions on a small scale.
  4. if it's a thin plastic that doesn't have to take alot of stress it could be vaccu-formed pretty easily.
  5. My results from searching about the nets came up with this. http://forums.atari.io/uploads/monthly_08_2016/post-1-0-11444400-1471320420.jpg Decent looking shirt, in a reply to a post that I think was made by our OP. Still saying the OP should sent that letter to the France office
  6. Andrew, If you handle it a bit like an interview of you that I read (which mentioned the game that shall remain nameless ) I'm sure you'll do fine. Also for what it's worth, a friend and I rented the game when we were young, and thought it was odd, but didn't think it was the worst we played. We did however think part of the problem was us not having the right controller (We were 5, we didn't know any better). All joking aside though, I think the flack the game catches on the net is a bit undeserving, especially considering the details you mentioned in the interview I read. I think you giving them the back story should go over decently well, and I seriously doubt anyone will say anything negative on the subject, unless it's a hilarious joke they've been sitting on since the 90's.
  7. Say 15 per each year you sinned. You can trust me, I got ordained on the internet,
  8. You could try this address 1640 S Sepulveda Blvd #300, Los Angeles, CA 90025 but i'm not sure if that's them anymore either. Or have some real fun and try this one off their website Atari - Corporate and Financial Communication 78 rue Taitbout - 75009 Paris - France At very least, they might get a laugh out of it.
  9. That's not a sin. You were just an innovator and redneck engineer. Reminds me of my dad's first remote control for the Magnavox, me sitting on a bigwheel. Good times.
  10. Definitely. Thinking about it, there were several on that list that I like much better now than I did back then. Atlantis being a major one of those, probably because I'm much better with leading targets now. Journey Escape was my favorite game to get friends who had one too many beers to play. Watching them try to figure out what the hell was going on there was priceless, and them sometimes getting Don't Stop Believing stuck in their head later and not realizing why was the icing on the cake.
  11. Possibly capacitors, kits are available and relatively cheap. Double check with a good cleaning of the contacts though. I had one I was trying to power up with a Sonic 2 cartridge, and after a really good contact cleaning on the system and the cartridge, I managed to get visual on the screen to come back. I liked the Sonic Drift games pretty well, Road Rash was a must have as far as I'm concerned(i'm biased though, I love most of the Road Rash games). Also it's got Streets of Rage, Ninja Gaiden, Shinobi, a decent Paperboy and the other good news is the game gear is region free, so you can play any country's carts. Also, if you get one of the Master System adapters, it opens up the library a bit further.
  12. Got curious. From the bottom of my 2600, the California number (800-672-1404) and the US main line(1-800-538-8543) are an advertisement multi line. I've sat through a few, and got State Farm Insurance, T Mobile, Direct TV, a Cash Giveaway sweepstakes, a singles line, and one of those "get a free vacation" timeshare companies before I lost interest in pressing # to decline the offer. Think I might have hit a new low. lol
  13. I'm surprised Venture got picked as late as it did. Always loved that game. Although i will admit, the Colecovision port is better.
  14. I've often thought about sending off some photos for the Activision patches just to see what happens. I look forward to seeing if you get a letter back asking if you have been living under a rock for the last 30 years. Edit: Probably should have done some Google searching and checked if Atari even has any facilities in Milpitas, California anymore. Maybe whoever has the PO box now will have a sense of humour.
