  1. @rdemming Do you know which program that is? I need to make some time to dive into this whole ST world
  2. Thanks for the tips, the one with 4mb is a STfm and the other one a STf. I think i'll keep the 4 mb and this weekend i'm going to pickup another STf, luckily there are still ST's overhere in the Netherlands.
  3. Hi, I'm now the lucky owner of two 1040ST(f), one is a stock version in very very good shape and the other one is in good shape and has a 4 mb memory expansion build in. Because i only need one i'm having trouble deciding which one i will sell. One would say, keep the expanded one but i'm only going play games on the ST, so my question which one is likely more compatible with most games? Has the 4 mb memory expansion any use for games or only for some large demos and other applications?
  4. Replaced the MFP 68901 and now it's working perfectly! And now let's discover this nice machine and great addition to my little retro computer cave
  5. I think the STFM doesn't have the U504, pin 4 of the monitor connector is directly linked to the MFP 68901. I think that is where my problem can be found. I have all the necessary tools to desolder it luckily , i only need to find a new part. The game i tested was Outrun and that game switched to low res, tried also some other games but these didn't start because of the high res mode. Thanks for your help
  6. It's not a cable problem, the Atari always starts in high res mode, if i plug in the philips (without any other computer attached) it will show a white screen and after that a black screen with some distortion. If i then remove the philips and plug in the SM124 i have high res image (instantaneously without reset of the atari). If i then load a game the atari switches to low res manual. So it looks like the monochrome sense is stuck in high res mode?
  7. I'm using a CM8802, when i boot with this monitor the screen flashes white and then becomes black. If i then plug in the high res monitor i have instant image of the desktop so it looks like its stuck in high res unless a game/program switches to low res. At least it's working and i can play some games on this nice machine.
  8. Just installed the Gotek usb drive so i could test using a game, nog composite is working, the game switched from hires to lowres. But shouldn't the Atari be able to boot in lowres? Now i need to switch monitors every time (or make a splitter cable with switch)
  9. Yes, it's a STfm, tried to use the RF modulator but my television set doesn't tune to it. I will try again today and also build in a Gotek with HxC firmware. I also want to try to use RGB signals to see if that is working.
  10. ----------Video-----> connected to pin 2 next to the audio. The spaces are removed on this BB | OOOO-----Audio----> OOOO OOOO O--------ground----> Pin 1: audio Pin 2 ground Pin 13: ground
  11. Hi, I recently bought a STfm including the monochrome monitor and cubase which is working perfectly. I'm totally new with the ST so maybe i'm asking a very stupid question... I made a composite cable to hook up to my philips, as this is a STfm composite should be available on the videoport. Problem is, the only thing i get is sound and a white screen followed by a black screen, when i plug in my hi res monitor (with the atari booted up) it's running in high res. Is this normal behavior ? Can i force it to low/medium res to test my cable or do i need to load a game disk ?
