  1. Yes, this one is difficult ; there are two eggs left behind on the video !
  2. I had a STacy 4 with a 40 Mb HDD : the backlighted LCD screen was unusable for games with fast animation, but Ultima II (awful under the GEM interface !) or Psion Chess were OK ; even Tetris was playable. The trackball was very good (my favourite pointing device after a good mouse - I hate trackpads !). I used to connect it to a CRT via SCART ; my favourite games were Time Bandit (with a great two players option !), Carrier Command, and Dungeon Master.
  3. Yes I think so ; I found pdf on zimmers.net : http://www.zimmers.net/anonftp/pub/cbm/schematics/drives/new/1541/Transit_card_251171-02_(300_dpi).pdf http://www.zimmers.net/anonftp/pub/cbm/schematics/drives/new/1541/Transit_card_251171-03_(300_dpi).pdf
  4. Is it possible to do that with an old 5.25" floppy ?
  5. I have an original SX-64 for the nostalgia, true retro feeling and as a collector, but for intensive retro gaming, C64 laptop should be fun. Even a little laptop with VICE should do the job (I have some Toshiba Libretto and a Pandora for that).
  6. Dino Eggs was one of my favorite game on C64 in the 80's. I played it again with VICE and WinVICE, and a bit later with SD2IEC when I managed to get a working SX-64. I heard of the Rebirth project as I was seeking some remake of the game : I found one named Dino Legs... So I decided to get it as soon as it was available ; I don't spend much time playing now, but Dino Eggs is one of these addictive games that you can play regularly for a little while, and I love it ! PS : I just get the 1.1.4.0 on Steam : thank you David !
  7. Some BASIC command such as OPEN15,8,15 PRINT#15,"I0" CLOSE15 will also park the head ?
  8. The 1541 weighting as a dead donkey, I'm sure that the SX-64 would be easier to carry ; but I'm not going to travel far with it, and I like the machinegun sounds of the drive ! On that point (carrying a SX-64 - not firing machinegun), is it so bad to carry the SX-64 without the transit card ?
  9. With the success of this multi-card, there will be new indie games with save game feature, hé, hé...
  10. Yes, but I'd like to keep the machine as close as possible from the original SX-64 (and I'm not very skilled with a screwdriver !), so shifting drive id by software the few times I want to use it is OK for me. Thanks. I found this useful document just when I was seeking informations about changing the drive id, but that was only the hardware method...
  11. Is it possible to save a game with the card (e. g. with the complete version of Eye of the Beholder) ?
  12. Thank you for the info. My SX-64 internal drive is working so far (although capricious with some disks !), but i'd prefer using d64 files rather than making multiple 5.25 disks ; with SD2IEC with drive number 9 or higher, many games not in a single files would not load...
  13. I played Dungeon Master and Chaos Strikes Back on ST, and later DOS versions of Eye of Beholder I & II : great games ! Especially Darkmoon, with a fabulous "ambiance", as for the true successor : Lands of Lore. I also appreciate Stonekeep, which have a good staging (i don't know if it is the good word for french "mise en scène")...
