  1. Long bump but had some similar questions regarding the French RGB Colecovision. Beyond the AC needing an adapter to run properly in NA, does the system only output 50hz regardless of territory? I'm interested in playing Colecovision in RGB but I imagine the experience suffers compared to my NA system running in 60hz. Do people still feel it's worth it? Thanks for your time!
  2. Hey, just as a fellow recent buyer I contacted Atari Age on their facebook page via private message and got a response very promptly. I received my cart within 1-2 weeks. Hope this helps.
  3. Definitely, I've seen them go for way higher on Ebay, haha. Thanks again for the help; I'll keep my eye open on some of the later models I think.
  4. Awesome, thanks for all the info! I haven't bought it yet actually though perhaps I am better off waiting on one of the other models. (It's $115 USD for the colour monitor and 520ST, including floppy and modem).
  5. Somewhat similarly, I've come across an Atari 520 ST and monitor locally. In terms of gaming I'm wondering if the Atari ST USB HxC is the best choice for playing a variety of games. http://www.ebay.ca/itm/172292406789?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Am I correct in assuming that with this that I would not additionally require an actual floppy drive to make images, etc.? I would just download games to my USB using my regular PC and then use it on the Atari? Apologises for my lack of knowledge on this subject! Thanks. Additionally, if anyone knows if the Dreamcast via VGA can be connected to the Atari SC1224 that would be much appreciated. Cheers.
  6. Got mine already as well, Ox. Glad everything worked out smoothly for both of us!
  7. So my Harmony Cart arrived today and has turned on every time 100 % and I've played the offending games on it as well. I cleaned those carts thoroughly so I suppose there must be a deeper issue with them. Glad I have the Harmony cart now; I only paid $10 for those loose carts so definitely not the end of the world. Very excited to dive into the 2600 library again; haven't played in 20 years Cheers. Edit: Evidently I spoke too soon and it just took a few times to turn on even with the Harmony Cart. Ugh. Lol
  8. Agreed, I feel like finding good-condition systems is likely going to get more rare so having a 2nd sounds prudent...at least that's how I'm justifying it Got one that included some of the offending games like Combat and Berzerk so hopeful that I won't encounter the same issue again/can perhaps determine if my carts are in fact not working at all or if the system is at fault.
  9. Seller was nice enough to offer a refund if I wanted so I think I'm going to go the easier route and try my luck buying a different 2600 That being said, having a 2nd Atari that I can tinker with/attempt repairs doesn't sound bad either given they aren't that expensive.
  10. Thank you for the in-depth responses; much appreciated. I will definitely look into troubleshooting the system further, though perhaps I should be asking for a refund/partial refund from the seller given it in theory is not working as advertised. Secondly, if these games display these issues with the real carts is it fair to assume that the Harmony Cart will also not display them correctly if the system is indeed at fault?
  11. So I opened it up this afternoon. Defender, Asteroids, and Yars' Revenge are working now quite consistently. Ms. Pac Man, Berzerk, and Combat do not work at all though. I did some minor cleaning and reattached two of the rubber pads. Is there anything on the internals that looks suspect? I am totally out of my element here, lol.
  12. From what I can tell my order has been shipped from the US already as well, Jason (priority shipping). Looking forward to testing it out!
  13. Yeah I've seen some ridiculous prices for various consoles/games (and I say that as a happy owner of nearly all Sega Saturn shooters ). Sadly, lots of people out there are ignorant of the market value and can be duped easily. If you're blowing tons on a sealed unopened copy of something I *sort of* get the justification, but some of these examples are just hilariously brutal.
  14. Well back home again and no change to the remaining carts working but the Atari looks *much* better through my CRT. Can't imagine how good it looks via RGB (have most of my consoles running RGB through a PVM), but still looks fine to me on my 14 " CRT. Hope my beginner troubleshooting uselessness is helpful to someone A picture:
