Retro Gaming & Computers: I have multiple Atari systems and installed a McWill LCD in my lynx, bought a second and will install that one later.

I would like to get an Amiga system as that is where my career started (Video Toaster, PAR, GVP 040, fat agnus, etc)

I have an Asteroids Deluxe upright I refurbished, and installed the Asteroids/Lunar Landing/Asteroids Deluxe processor board. I also have a Centipede upright.

My latest treasure to focus on is the Vectrex system. I finally got one for a reasonable price. It's something I couldn't afford as a kid.

Looking forward to receiving the homebrew games I ordered from Kristoff Tuts. And I have more planned I'd like to get. The VecFevor is high on my list to get too.

  1. Sent my request in PM. James
  2. A google search brought me here... I have the same problem and I'm using the actual game cartridge in a real 7800. My right button on both of my sticks is acting as a regular fire button. So I doubt it's an emulator issue. I'm wondering if the rom itself is bad. This one I have I actually opened the box that was sealed for the last 25 or so years, so it's "brand new". Ha.
  3. Thanks guys, The seller asked me to return it and they'd send another unit. They were very embarassed that they didn't see that could crash it cause that person I spoke with tests all the units before sending them out. So it's getting a shipping label and put in the mail asap. I'll let them know about that C41 capacitor. As for the factory in 2016, I suspect that there's been a lot of warehouse sales from atari over the years where there's new old stock that changed hands in bulk orders til it finds it's way onto ebay. This one was supposedly from refurb stock out of Atari at one point.
  4. Hi Guys, I just got a Lynx from eBay that was supposedly a refurb from Atari. The box serial number and the unit serial number don't match, so I'm suspicious it's not a factory refurbished unit. But here's the only issue I've found with it so far... When I hit the backlight button it turns the screen off the playing music freezes and the video is garbled like a screen dump and the game is locked up so I have to power down. I searched the forums to find anything out about it but haven't found anything. Should I send it back to exchange for another unit? Here's something else to factor in. I've got a McWill screen on the way. My gut says this isn't a screen issue, it's a circuit issue, like hitting that button is shorting something to cause it go freeze up with a garbled screen image. Thanks, James
  5. I just found the topic thread. As mentioned in PM put me on the list when it begins.
  6. SainT - So it seems that I need to do 100 posts in order to see chats. I have a message in chat waiting to be read and if that's yours I'll not be able to see it for quite some time. This is most disappointing if someone like me joins to make a purchase from a user and that requires communication via chat here. I don't know if there are rules for posting personal website, so forgive me, but here's the way to get to my email... http://www.jamesstudiogallery.com/contact We can just use email to make arrangements if that's ok. Otherwise I need to make 100 bs posts and I suspect that's even more frowned upon. I don't want to post my email address in the forum for every spam bot to find so please use that webpage to establish email contact and we can take it from there. :-) Thanks, James
  7. I just joined AtariAge just to get this cart... please add me to the list. :-) I'm ordering a Lynx today. I used to own one before and regret that I sold it and a bunch of games. My plan is to also get McWill's screen/vga update/adapter too. James
