  1. I know this is old, but I wanted to say the 2 Amp supply will work fine. The console will only draw the power (Amps) it needs. Amp rating on a power supply is just the maximum it will output. The main thing is to make sure the positive and negatives on the barrel connector are correct. Some have positive on the inside of the barrel and for some it's negative with positive on the outside. If you buy a regulated supply, be careful. Some of the cheaper ones are noisy and it can affect your video signal on some consoles.
  2. Will larger carts not play on the firmware modded Retron 77?
  3. I hope they continue updating it after Christmas is over.
  4. Doesn't look like a lot of action. Nothing like Super Cyborg or Blazing Chrome, but maybe they're going for a slower paced game.
  5. It might be a good idea to use a game or image of something that is fairly well known like a countries flag or scenic area with a blue sky. From there, I think the only thing you can do is try to get a good balance you're happy with. The raster converter thread might be useful for this.
  6. Whenever I hear of someone saying they can't find help in developing a piece of tech, I immediately start to suspect they don't have any money to pay them with.
  7. Thanks! I was thinking they weren't exact. Do you know what the values of the calibration board should be? I would like to try making my own just so I can check the system itself.
  8. Do you know what exact values that board is using for the pot's neutral position? Should it be exactly half the 640k of the potentiometers? (320k)?
  9. These look really cool. One thing I wish makers of these would do is silkscreen some bend lines onto the flex circuits so you could pre-bend them. It's not that big of a deal though. Awesome find.
  10. Try going through this guide. It's the one I used. https://atari8bit.net/tutorials/de-re-sdrive-max/ Here are the error codes from the github. Are you sure you formated to fat32? SD-Card: 1 error going into idle state 2 error getting enhanced power requirements 3 error on initialization for SD 4 error on initialization for MMC 5 error setting block length to 512 FAT: 1 error reading master bootblock 2 error reading partition bootblock 3 filesystem not supported SIO: 1 CMD changed to high during data reception 2 timeout 3 usart frame error 4 usart data overrun
  11. There are raspberry pi projects for the Amiga and various other computers that do something similar to this. I think it would be cost effective for someone to use something like the RPI Pico or an STM32 blue pill board to replace or supplement the GTIA. The problem is finding someone to program it. https://github.com/hoglet67/RGBtoHDMI https://github.com/captain-amygdala/pistorm
  12. Tell me the VCS is just a side project without telling me it's just a side project.
  13. If they had so much money on hand, why did they need to crowd fund a game console?
