Thanks Allan, weird thing is when I try "LPrint" in basic I can hear the printer energize, then within a few seconds error 144 appears.

Hello folks, I am a way back Atari fanatic who just got back into programming and have a quick question. Is the 1025 printer a direct plug in on my 800 xl or is some time of adapter required? Also can anyone tell me the print command in atari assembly for my source code? Thanks and sorry for the newbie questions, I haven't touched one these since the late 80's and have forgotten a bunch.

Thanks so much for the help folks, I was only using a single space from the line number instead of double and as I relearned a single is required when using a label. You guys are spot on about how painfully slow it is to assemble a program, just like I remember in the 80's lol. Thanks again everybody.

Sorry folks, I have a mint condition 1050 floppy drive and lots of new floppys but no DOS disc.

When I do this the self test menu comes up. This happened on another xl we bought a while back also. Thanks.

Hello again. We purchased an Atari 800xl a couple of months ago and something I noticed was when the DOS prompt is entered a self test menu comes up on the screen. Does anyone know what is going on here. Thanks.

Hello everyone, I am somebody getting back into programming again like I did in the 80's. The thing is we got an assembler editer cartridge and put in good code and got a syntax error 6 on every line when assembling the program. Is this cartridge only good for 400/800 systems and not the xl series. We are currently using an 800xl but I will find an actual 800 if I have to. Thanks folks.
