#4249749 Game(s) similar to "Adventure" - help me remember?

Great game but having to start from scratch everytime you get hit ruins it for me.  The playing field is too large for this.

Can anyone post the latest firmware here?

Does anyone know the maximum of characters that is accepted in flashback 9? I noticed that the console can only read the roms with small names with no space between them and with few letters, also does not accept any kind of special character, we have to write as short as possible and no space between letters. I found it very tiring to have to rename all roms if you want to play them, Retron is a much better option than Flashback ....

Mine reads long names with special characters...

The latest community update contains 3.9.4.  The (4) adds CDF support as its major feature, which allows Mappy, Super Cobra Arcade, WoW, etc to run.  The code is available here; it should be easily portable to run on the AtGames device.

Who would be able to convert this to a firmware that can be installed on the FB9?

Third, on the SD card menu, you'll need to shorten your rom collection file names (who wants to do that?) just to be able to read them.

No you don't, the names scroll.

You have got to be kidding?!  That old menu is ugly and very generic.

I agree.

Have you tried updating with the proper firmware at least?

That's what I was going to suggest.  Put the correct firmware on an SD card and see if the unit will take it.

I wonder if there are technical problems with getting these specialized paddles working on the 9

I was wondering the same thing.

I returned the 9 Gold and I will try another when I find one locally.  So far, Game Stop is the only brick and morter store that has it but I would prefer to buy it from another store.

I would think twice about swapping the FB9 for the FB8.  The FB9 uses Stella for emulation.  The FB8 uses AtGames own emulation which is not as good as Stella.  The FB9 has SD card support so you can add additional ROMs.  The FB8 doesn't.  I think you'd be better off just waiting and getting the FB9 paddles.

It does happen during the emulation but it doesn't happen when you're on the game selection menu and the background music is playing.  Definitely a problem with the emulation...and it's not consistent.  I wonder if it's only present on the Gold versions.

I'm attaching a wav file.  I loaded Return To Haunted House and reset the game several times to get a sample of the intro theme.  I don't know if "dropouts" are a good description but listen for yourselves.  I tried another TV and the issue persists.  Does anyone have a Flashback 9 that sounds like this?

Yea, I hope Bill can chime in.  I'm dissappointed in it and thinking about returning it as defective.  I'm gonna try a different TV and see if the issues persist.  I picked up the 9 Gold at Game Stop.
