  1. In case anyone needs them, 5200 joystick rubber boots are now available at: www.atarirepairparts.com
  2. That could be the most dirt I've seen on a drive head in my entire life. Looks like someone wiped their ass with it. LOL
  3. I second this. Great game and should be able to be implemented by those much more talented than me.
  4. Posted in the BBS Guru section and here as well... DOS copy to E: or you can probably use Word but formatting will be off... Enjoy. PHONE.DAT
  5. Greetings, Was advised to post this here as it would be of interest. Found this on an old Forem disk I got in a collection. It's a list of Atari BBS's across many states. File is "phone.dat" - attached here. Copy to E: from DOS or you can probably open with Word but formatting will be off. Thanks, John PHONE.DAT
  6. Going through collections of disks, I stumbled upon a disk marked "Forem Data Disk" - a remnant of someone's old BBS. On it was a file called "phone.dat" which contained a list of Atari BBS names and numbers from back in the day. Before I toss it, is there a BLOB (Big List OF BBS's) maintained anywhere for posterity? Thanks.
  7. @rkindig I pretty much spend most of my nights doing some archiving. Unless the disks are copy-protected, all you need is the computer, drive, and an SIO2USB from Atarimax. Simple to use. Just create load a virtual image as D1:, set your physical drive to D2: and use MyCopyR to duplicate the floppy. I would also caution about looking for dirt/mold on disks. I actually keep the top of my 1050 off so I can clean the head regularly (q-tip & 99% alcohol), burst of canned air to dry it.
  8. Agreed with @DjayBee. I've run across a fair number of older PD programs that require translator or Rev. A basic.
  9. @rkindig @Schadret @rdefabri See attached. JACG Disks.zip
  10. I recently stumbled upon a disk that had a couple of hardware mods by Howard Siebenrock (author of APX Enhancements to Graph-It) and it got me thinking/wondering about how many of these old mods may have been lost to time. I don't personally remember seeing these before but that isn't saying much since my brain is mush. I converted them to Word format, cleaned up the formatting and spelling. Both mods can be done separately or together and they reference each other in the instructions. Atari 800 RESET Switch - installs a momentary switch above the Atari 800's RESET key - hold the switch down while pressing RESET and the machine does a cold boot instead of a warm restart. Atari 800 Cartridge Switch - installs switches to enable/disable both cart ports in the 800. You can even set the switches so the computer reads the right slot as the left slot. Posting them here for posterity... Atari 800 Cartridge Switch.docx Atari 800 RESET Switch.docx
  11. Has anyone compared the prototype rom to the version that was created - shown on Atari Wiki?
  12. Jerry has finished revising his Poker Solitaire program with this final release of Poker Solitaire 2024. Aside from the enhanced program it includes several demos and other fun programs from Jerry. You can download it here: http://www.atarimania.com/game-atari-400-800-xl-xe-poker-solitaire-2024_42465.html Jerry would love to hear your feedback about PS2024 or any of the other games or utilities he's written over the years. Feel free to drop him a line at jplogical@msn.com even just to say "Hello" Happy New Year!
  13. Trolls & Tribulations was another one. I remember this becaus emy buddy (who had a Commodore) and I bought this disk and split the cost.
  14. I remember Rescue on Fractalus or maybe it was Ballblazer coming on a flippy disk. Oddly enough, Atari's own Music Painter was released as a flippy with a C64 version on Side B.
