  1. Yeah, that's what I'll do. I just tried to file the non-paying bidder report and found out I have to way for 7 days first. Hmmm... what if I wait till the eleventh hour on the 90th day and dropped a neg on him? Would it be too late for him to give me one?
  2. Well, What's ironic about his 1 neg is in that case, crazy_wheelman was the seller! He had a guy back out on him. In my case, he's the buyer. I think I'll neg him anyway. I'm growing tired of eBay. I'm currently chasing ANOTHER payment from an auction that ended 8 days ago.
  3. This is my auction: http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIt...me=STRK:MESO:IT Ended tonight. The guy emails me within an hour: "Hi there, I am sorry to say this. I realize I bid on the item with only a few hours left, and I did it at work today. After work I went to the video store and found it there for only a few dollars. I hate to say it, but I am backing out on the auction. I know this is completely unfair to you. Please feel free to leave negative feedback, it is completely understandable and deserved. -Mike" WTF? To neg or not to neg? He's got decent feedback. I'm tempted to leave a neg, but then I'll get one in return. Can I report this email to eBay and get him NARU'ed? Opinions wanted. Thanks
  4. Yeah, in Canada we have a franchise called Microplay. Similar to EB Games (we have those too). At Microplay you can rent pretty much all the latest releases - same as console games. I didn't know that renting PC games was uncommon Guess I've never seen it the other way around!
  5. Thanks for the suggestion, I think it helped a little. I also updated to the beta release of the Catalyst 4.9 drivers from ATI. I set the game settings to low and resolution to 640 x 480. It is playable now, but everything looks jagged. For a while I thought it was the original DOOM. This game is a stinker - unless you like fumbling around in the dark trying to shoot at a monster you can hear but can't see. Sure you can use a flashlight, but you have to switch to a gun to shoot. By that time, the baddie has moved and you just point in his general direction and waste ammo. A word of advice...... Make sure you rent it before you shell out the $$ to buy it. Jerry
  6. Well, I'm gonna have to pick up the XBOX version - seeing as DOOM 3 runs like crap on my PC. Serious lagging and stuttering...to the point where it takes the enjoyment out of the game My PC specs in case you're wondering: Athlon XP 1800 Radeon 9500PRO 128MB 512MB RAM
  7. Demos can be a good help in making a purchase decision. Unfortunately, however, unless it's a playable demo, it can be misleading. I recently got suckered into buying Project Gotham Racing for XBOX based on a demo and was REALLY disappointed in it. I'm not going there again. From now on, I'm renting games before buying them.
  8. 770 I really, really suck at this game. The main reason I picked it was to force myself to get some practice.
  9. All shipping prices are actual. Bid High, Bid Often!! Thanks for looking
  10. I use silver polish on my systems. It works really well. It takes A LOT of hard work - maybe if I had a dremel or a rotary tool it would go faster. Either way, it's worth the effort. Jerry
  11. At least this guy is honest about it.... Why is shipping higher on ebay than on other retail internet sites? 90% of people that sell on eBay need to recover the costs that eBay charges to sell their item. There are insertion and special list fees, final value fees and paypal fees. These fees are $2.50-$5.50 for items $10-$50. If it cost $3.85 to actually ship we must add $3 to recover these costs. We do not make money on shipping when this is taken into account! However, I think you will agree that you can save over 50% on some items by buying on eBay. Be prepared to pay higher shipping costs on eBay to get items at a great price. The total price is still a nice savings over going outside eBay. 12. Hi, Here's a link to the comparisons by Nathan Strum http://www.atariage.com/forums/viewtopic.p...2650&highlight= Personally, I prefer the Phono-to-Coax adaptor to Ben Heckendorn's mod. I found the picture was WAY too dark. But that's just me. Hope this helps. Jerry
