Roller Controller Mode Switch Bypass?

Is there anyway to bypass the mode switch on the roller controller? The switch circuit board on mine is fried.

Does anybody know how to make the steering wheel not use batteries? Or is it possible to wire it to the colecovision console itself?

  Sure, track down a Coleco Perma Power kit , it was fake batteries connected to a power adaptor or find a power adapter with the right voltake, strip the wires and connect to the battery compartment terminals.
