  1. Adventure started first, the code was used to build Superman, which came out first, then Adventure was completed. So that's how Adventure both provided an engine for Superman, but was still more advanced by the time it came out.
  2. Correct. He has no access to that kind of equipment. I have many Atari computers, but not the knowhow to transfer it to a safer medium. Thanks. I will try that.
  3. A friend of mine programmed "Espionage" for 8-Bit computers. It was distributed through Dynacomp. He has only one copy and would like to make sure it's archived, but he's afraid to send it out (for obvious reasons). Does anyone out there have this game (original or emulated)? He'd really appreciate it.
  4. So, let me understand this. Tom Brady is fined $10,000 for kicking an opposing player and Frank Gore is fined $10,500 for wearing his socks too low.Ah, priorities...

  5. How cold is it out there?Doctor Who scarf cold.

  6. Greetings, programs! Been a while since I stopped by the AtariAge forums. Anyway, I recently got another "Atari Force" page, my first from the monthly series, so I thought I'd share: http://bit.ly/WfTnIG Here's a link to my full "Atari Force" gallery, showing all the AF pages I currently own: http://bit.ly/XCpsax Comments are welcome (here and - if you belong - at ComicArtFans).
  7. First of all, this poll is five years old. It's missing at least a couple of "Pitfalls", I believe. Second, that game is *awesome*. I need me one...
  8. Dear random ebay seller,No one is going to give you $4.00 for your two Atari Force comics without covers. No one.You are wasting the Internet. As am I.

  9. So, what are your expectations in this area? (This is not an opportunity to air your feelings on the holidays in general. If you don't partake, you may say so. Any negativity or snarkiness will be deleted at my discretion.)
  10. It turns out there are plenty of unpublished Atari Force pages out there, though these are by Andru and Giordano, so have more credence. http://home.hiwaay.n..._afoa_unk.shtml I recently got this authentic Atari Force page: http://www.comicartf...882&GSub=111107 And just a few minutes ago won another two pages on ebay that I haven't yet been able to identify: eBay Auction -- Item Number: 270836798174 Anyone seen these two published? I can't find my mini-comics and I know the ones on AtariAge are missing a few pages...
  11. I will admit to buying 'Ninjabread Man' for the Wii just because I love the title. Awful game. Great title.
  12. So I pre-ordered the R2-D2 Xbox360 Kinect bundle. I know I already have an Xbox360 (a nifty red Resident Evil model that available for sale if anyone's interested), but I could not turn it down. That, plus the upcoming Blu-ray set has got Star Wars games on my mind. I checked the archives and we haven't tackled this one before. What's the best Atari-related Star Wars game? Now, to qualify the games have to either be produced/published by Atari (basically the arcade titles) or be available on an Atari machine. The countless adaptations/ports of the arcade games don't count. (Not even the fairly direct ones like the GameCube.) So, to recap, here they are. Be sure to let me know if I missed one. (Highlighted titles link to the AtariAge database.) Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back (Atari 2600, Parker Bros.) Star Wars: Jedi Arena (Atari 2600, Parker Bros.) Star Wars: The Arcade Game (Atari 2600, Parker Bros.) Star Wars: Return of the Jedi - Death Star Battle (Atari 2600, Parker Bros.) Star Wars: Return of the Jedi - Ewok Adventure (Atari 2600, Parker Bros. - unreleased) Star Wars: The Arcade Game (Atari 5200, Parker Bros.) Star Wars: Return of the Jedi - Death Star Battle (Atari 5200, Parker Bros.) Star Wars (Arcade, Atari) Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back (Arcade, Atari) Star Wars: Return of the Jedi (Arcade, Atari) Star Wars: Return of the Jedi - Death Star Battle (Atari 8-Bit, Parker Bros.) Star Wars: The Arcade Game (Atari ST, Domark) Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back (Atari ST, Domark) Star Wars: Return of the Jedi (Atari ST, Domark)
  13. Yes. This first went up in January of 2008. Probably time to lock it.
  14. It's perfectly big, and not bulky. The original gameboy, that was bulky. Games don't really look pixellated, they look great. There's no K in nub. Mario Kart DS plays better with an Arkanoid paddle than with a digital nub, not that the 3DS or XL support that. The 3DS does nothing to help DS games play better, and for somebody who was harping on how they look on an XL, I'm surprised you haven't noticed that they look worse on a 3DS. Opinions vary. To me, the DSXL is too big to fit comfortably in my pocket, unlike my DS and 3DS, therefore, it is too big. Games look pixellated to me, by which I mean I can see the pixels more clearly. There's a space in "Game Boy". I fail to see the relevance of your Arkanoid paddle point, since they are not readily available. I find the 3DS makes many DS games play better, that's why I said it. I don't find that DS games look worse on a 3DS, which is why I *didn't* say it. As for the issue of the 3D. It *is* something of a gimmick. Surprisingly, unlike the Virtual Boy, none of the games have really *used* the 3D in a way to enhance the gameplay. I think this may be due to the desire to make the games work just as well with the 3D turned off. And the point is, they *do* play very well with the 3D turned off. The DS can't handle the graphics of Zelda or Street Fighter. And those games are worth playing, even if you turn the 3D off, which I often do. On the other hand, I have fallen in love with 3D photography. The 3DS is proving to be an entry drug to that world for me. (I've been a photographer for many years, but never dabbled in 3D before.) As for backwards compatibility, all I ask is that the *last* iteration be supported. The GBC supported GB. The GBA supported GB/GBC. The DS supported GBA. The 3DS supports DS. Going further back is silly and would add unneccesarily to an already expensive piece of equipment. How many games am I going to play at once anyway? Do I need access to *every* handheld game ever? No. That's what my GB, GBC, GBA & DS are for. In my opinion, there's a lot more to the 3DS than just "games with a 3D effect". It's more powerful and more functional than the two previous iterations of the DS hardware.
  15. Nah, if you were considering a DS or DSi, get the XL. If you're considering playing new handheld Nintendo games in 2012 and beyond, get a 3DS. 3DS isn't great for DS games; the XL is. Oh, I *hate* the XL. It's too big and bulky and everything looks pixellated because it's stretched. I still say the 3DS is the way to go. Some games control better with the 3DS' analog knub, even if at their heart they're still getting a digital signal. Mario Kart DS, for example, is a lot smoother. The 3DS actually helps make DS games play better. A more significant plus to me than a honking big screen.
