  1. I love this game -- I've been playing slightly longer. Without spoiling anything, I will say that there is a way to store some additional weapons outside your inventory. Amazing game. EDIT: P.S. It appears I'm close to finding all the shrines! I've been trying to avoid reading spoilers, but oops. I'm not quite a completist, as I'm not trying to find all the koroks, but I do want to max out all my armor and hearts/stamina before going for the end boss.
  2. Awesome E.T. reference in today's Google Doodle.

Nice! Thanks for pointing that out to me, I might have missed it otherwise.

it took me a while but I solved it.

  3. Today's Google Doodle celebrating the 66th anniversary of Roswell is a little adventure game that includes a game-play reference to the 2600 game E.T.! http://www.google.com/ Spoilers by PM if you can't find it. Should be available here tomorrow: http://www.google.co...013/All doodles
  4. Nice feel! This would have been a big title back in the day. Congrats!
  5. Pet Peeve: "pixilated" is not how you spell something that appears blocky due to visible pixels. "Pixilated" is an old word for "confused" and literally meaning "led astray by pixies." Pixel is a modern word formed from "PICture" and "ELement" ("pic-el" would have been confused with the dill delicatessen delicacy, after all). If you want to talk about something having the appearance of pixels, use "pixelated" with an E!
  6. gotta get back to one of my 2600 projects instead of working all the time!

  8. If anybody is looking for some ROM files to see what these games are like, here are some places where you can find development .bin files for Dungeon and Juno First: Dungeon: http://www.atariage.com/forums/topic/127378-dungeon-2600-release-candidate/page__view__findpost__p__1590573 Juno First: http://www.atariage.com/forums/topic/125269-juno-first-third-release-candidate-atari-2600/page__view__findpost__p__1590137 Both look fantastic!
  9. I thought you guys might want to try your hand at this ThinkGeek contest on Twitter: http://twitter.com/thinkgeek/status/1584939283 Post a tweet @thinkgeek with your guess before 3pm Eastern (you have 3 hours 38 minutes!)
  10. Drat...looks like it is fading regularly now. If I power cycle the non-MCR part of the machine a few times, it fixes itself. I guess the amps aren't on the MCR at all? Weird.
  11. Or, if you want to do it straight-up, see Andrew Davie's tutorial on how to program the 2600 directly: http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=47479
  12. Me three...with the VecFlash, not only can you play rare games on your own Vectrex, but you can tinker at writing your own.
  13. Hey Cassidy, Per your recommendation, I bought Arcadeshop.com's MCR power supply kit and got it installed today over an extended lunch break (you may have noticed my rear end hanging out of the cab here: http://www.thinkgeek.com/images/cams/kitchencam.jpg). I didn't use the snake-bite AC power connectors they included with the kit (no mention of them in the instructions...maybe they were for grounding, on second thought?! I'll email them and ask). I just soldered and bug-nutted two wires from a PC power cable between the new power supply and the main AC input for the cabinet (which I had already replaced, since my cab came without a ground prong...eep). I also couldn't get the little screws included for mounting the PSU to grab it, so I improvised the mounting. The good news: it powered on with no trouble, and after beating the default 2000-pt high score, it saved the new #1 score and 1UP score through power-off and unplugging...w00t! Only time will tell if the sound fades intermittently... Thanks again! Jacob
  14. Yeah! I'd love to see your collection some time. You know, I have been meaning to replace the high score battery for its own sake -- I didn't know it could cause side-effects like this. I have a battery box, and was simply going to solder it in with two NiCd AAs inside as a replacement for the funky NiCd that came with the machine.
  15. Hey all, Does anybody know what might be wrong with a TRON (Midway) cabinet where one of the audio channels is crackling and fading in and out? Thanks for any tips! Jacob
