  1. People don't understand how impressive the games for a console with only 128 bytes of RAM really is. The games are the right level of simplicity that anyone can play. Sure the graphics are basic, but they have such a wonderful charm to them. Especially all the manuals, documentation, etc.
  2. I have never owned a 520, but I believe you are correct. The M should indicate the unit has Composite out capabilities, and therefore should provide composite sync circuit on the video out line..
  3. Also might be worth noting that the STFM and STE models have composite video SYNC signals that allow you to output gorgeous RGB video. This can be used in conjunction with a professional RGB monitor like the Sony PVM or BVM (expensive).
  4. I also received an NEC Accusync LCD72V from a seller who mis-labelled their eBay auctions and can confirm that it does NOT work with the low 15Khz sync signal. Bummer! Make sure to have the seller double check the model # on the actual unit (and don't be like me). What a waste of money and shipping.
  5. Nice. I didn't know about the Cosmos EX, but it sounds great! So many features.
  6. EzdineG : have you checked your DMA chip to see if it has chip signature "C025913-38" ?
  7. Thanks.. I was hoping there was an easy software test that would grind away at the IO and report back if it found any checksum errors or whatnot. Alas I will record my part number and help contribute to Exxos' database.
  8. Nice.. I hope it's just a myth! Going to order an ultrasatan this week and I'm super excited to have an STE finally. I also managed to get a SCART cable for it, and get it hooked up to a Sony PVM.
  9. Just picked up an STE and I've read that some early models had defective DMA chips. Is there a way to test in my DMA chip is defective in my STE?? thanks!
