I guess I just sorted it out 1-4 are SD or DD for the first 4 drives (I guess) But I'm still not exactly sure how 5-8 work. Guess I'll keep at it.

Awesome, thanks for that find. I wish the docs would expand on what "Switches 1 through 4 are density selection switches that allow you to configure the drives for either single or double density on boot-up" means. I know that all the switches up let me boot a disk I've made with mydos on it, and if I change any of the first 4, it no longer boots. But thats about it.

I have one working as D1 and D2, but I cant seem to sort out what the 8 dipswitches do, fully. It seems 5 changes the amdek to D2, but thats about all I can tell. Does anyone have a scan of the orig manual, or a list of what does what?!? Thanks! Rob

I have reseated all socketed chips without change. Sadly Ram is not socketed.

520ST bone stock. Was working fine, havent moved, just turned off and on, but today is giving 8 bombs. Haven't been able to find a good direction to start. Privilege Violation doesn't tell much. Suggestions?

Ok, I'm clearly missing something. I'm using a copy of Raiden Jiffi confirms the file has the header Hex edit confirms Romsplit –we raiden.rom gives me raiden.hi and raiden.lo Burn those Have tried this twice, one attempt goes straight to red jaguar screen, the other time it does the jaguar intro, but after that goes into red jag screen, I'm not sure if that is coincidence

Thanks to all the helpful (and even the unhelpful) comments, I've been able to create my first working cart. Its cool to see all the hard work people have put in to help keep these systems running. Now to go back and see what I've done wrong in my previous attempts. Thanks All. Update, its source I'm using for the roms, as the Raiden roms I tried to split pass a burn test, but wont run. So at least I know where to start looking.

I have had a heck of a time finding the correct sockets for these boards, I keep smaller, up to 40pin, but nothing 42. Ok, I gave it a go on my own, but never got more than the jag red screen of death. Do I understand that its fine to use M27C160? Is there anything special? I guess since I've done all the steps, I'm not sure which of the steps I've messed up. Is there anyone that can give me a set of hi/lo that are tested, just so I can confirm I'm STARTING with something good? I cut up a raiden rom, since I own several copies, I figure I'm good to do what I want for non commercial reasons I'm really tired of soldering and unsoldering. I need to find zif sockets for these! Has anyone done that?

Could someone post a high and low rom image set to be burned, I have all the needed parts, but i'd like to prove I can make the 2nd half work before I take off upon the file processing part of it. Thanks

I ordered a 5 pack of max flash, just to have to play with, but I have eeproms, just need to find a blank cart, to see if I can do it is what pushes me. I havent used this pbr thing since 89 ish, and even then it was more just to prove it worked. There is a joystick cable that I havent yet found so I couldnt actually "use" it even if I wanted to. Now to see if I can find someone that has the disk emulator ver of this

Lots of ways to do this, but if I take this file, should I be able to just burn a 2716 with this? I guess at this point it cheaper just to use one of Tucker's MaxFlash carts
