  1. Saw something this weekend that makes me think Amico never had a chance in the marketplace. I was in line at Chipotle Saw a 4 year old with a phone playing a Sonic clone. Touchscreen controls were left, right and jump. Character was on 3 invisible tracks, so tapping left /right moved it one track over. Super simple to play, colorful with very fast and smooth moving graphics. Young kid was having no problem completing levels. Could not see why someone that age would prefer to play Cornhole, Shark Shark, Farkle or any other shown games. Could not see why a parent would buy a console to hook up to a TV when they could just hand their child a phone they already own. Amico would be DOA selling only to retro fans who had nastalgia for the old intelly games.
  2. Some more locked AA threads. Looks like only 1st page of each was achieved. These are from the reddit thread here "The Amico Community" - https://web.archive.org/web/20211130155227/https://atariage.com/forums/topic/326099-the-amico-community/ "Please for the love of god don’t buy games that are set to be delivered within 10 days when the system is god knows how far away from launch ." - https://web.archive.org/web/20211130155206/https://atariage.com/forums/topic/325891-please-for-the-love-of-god-don%E2%80%99t-buy-games-that-are-set-to-be-delivered-within-10-days-when-the-system-is-god-knows-how-far-away-from-launch/ "Fundable Amico" - https://web.archive.org/web/20211015193739/https://atariage.com/forums/topic/324059-fundable-amico/ "Ars Technica article on Amico" - https://web.archive.org/web/20211015210346/https://atariage.com/forums/topic/322353-ars-technica-article-on-amico/
  3. What a mess cornhole is. Posted on discord Looks like the Amico hardware controller's motion controls would never work right. The motion sensor "tends to drift after a couple of seconds."
  4. Don't expect Night Stalker soon, or even ever. Can't fund it. And the Amico API and controller has changed since the demo was made. Really shows how old that demo is and that no work was ever done beyond what was shown.
  5. Having installed both, the Sophia RGB mod produces a better picture. But you need an upscaler to really enjoy it
  6. Regardless of motive, just trying to get people to respond. Which people just seem to do.
  7. Wow. That video is really bad. And only one year ago. What a way to promote a "family" gaming system. What a way to turn away any possible potential interest.
  8. Another absolute gem is the Redditt thread. When questioned about console production, TT stated they have to start making it by July to meet the release date. He stated due to "insane shipping problems" from China to US, they may manufacturer it in Mexico, or even the USA. Really? If you can't ship consoles from China to the US, how do ship parts from China to the US. But I guess you can because TT stated he had 3 people working full time on logistics.
  9. @MrBeefy Your old Independent Amico Discussion Thread is just a gold mine of things that turn out not to be true. TT "100% promised" that the Amico base unit would not be over $249. (Post #1407 on page 57)
  10. Pretty good 4 minute video showing Tommy Tallarico telling which games were either in development or coming to the Amico. For example, he said a Tron game was being worked on and would be a launch day release. Also, for a console that was targeted to non-gamers and was not a retro machine, he talked a lot about purely retro titles that would be on the Amico Video link
  11. Wow! This side by side comparison shows literally no work done on the games. Video on right is "Intellivision Amico - 10.10.20 Game Play update." Video on left is "Game Play 2022." Both game play videos were posted by Intellivision. Side by side video
  12. Not surprised the Amico Home games are not selling well. Those that listen to TT know there is no reason to buy them as TT said that most Amico games cannot be played on mobile devices. The games they are releasing must be the most mobile friendly of the 40 TT said were done at the time of the original 202 release date. Wonder what the other 35 are like.
  13. Correct. Just lots of talk. IE did not license M-Network from Atari. Atari purchased the M-Network catalog from IE.
  14. You are assuming there actually were licensing deals. I've been reading the old AtariAge Q&A threads as well as your Independent Discussion thread and in hindsight, nothing Tommy Tallerico said seems to be true. I'd be shocked if they had any actual licenses. Let us not forget in Tommy's own words it is impossible to play any of the Amico games on any other system.
