  1. The reason why I say the TV is getting a signal is because the static/snow of having it on ch 2 or 3 goes away when I power up the jr. The vr is receiving 11n change, and putting out 5v even. All caps were put in the same direction as the ones taken out (arrow to neg). The IFB rings out. That was my frustrated thought "cooked a chip". I did spark out a cap... forgot to let it drain off before I touched it. Can't remember, but I thought it was at the beginning of this disaster. And if that's the case, it was tested after.
  2. Rewind? You mean put the old ones back in? Did that already... one at a time... checking after each.
  3. And yes I checked all my solder points
  4. Was working... 2600 jr had a bad pot, replaced it, great colors now. Got a tune up kit (caps & voltage reg) Replaced the large cap and 2 small ones visible. Tested unit, worked great. Opened up metal shell to get at the other 2 small caps. Replaced those. Put unit back together, turned it on... nothing! The TV gets a signal, but no audio or picture. Any thoughts?
  5. Is this the way you did the mod? Just curious cause I was planning on following these instructions when the kit arrives.

  7. I ordered a couple off e Bay. Wasn't expensive. I'll swap it out and see if that does anything. I didn't look too close at the joints. I ordered the "tune up kit" along with the rca conversion kit. One step at a time. Thanks!
  8. It wasn't just from touching the pot. I turned it back n forth a few times, and got nothing. The adjustment disc on the pot is metal, and when I slipped with the screwdriver and touched one of the leads (coming off the pot to the board) AND the adjustment disc at the same time... that's how I got color
  9. Looking for advice. Picked up this jr couple days ago. Everything works great except no/limited color. Move the switch and you can tell it flips to black n white Took the system apart and cleaned it good. Tried adjusting the pot but nothing. By accident I happened to slip with the screwdriver and touch the top left lead and the adjustment disc at the same time. Got color, but it faded out in a couple seconds. Did that again and it came back/went away again... Thoughts? Just a bad pot?
