  1. Gamera, the animated series on Netflix has a 2600 in it. I watched all 6 episodes last night, but had forgotten about this thread. So I didn't get the timestamp or episode number. If no one else posts it first, I'll try to get the info when I have some spare time.
  2. I have rebuilt NES contollers to work with one button, I'm sure I could do a 2 button, but I don't have any of the stuff I need to build one right now. I don't even have the money to buy the materials.🤪
  3. I agree with this. Just make sure you get an original.
  4. Atari says they won't change anything, but the availability of some games already says otherwise. It looks like some of the great minds of this forum may leave soon, which will hurt the forums greatly. I don't want to leave, but without the knowledge some members bring, the forums won't be the same. I see Atari (the company) as a cash grabbing machine threatening to crush our sanctuary here. What have they done for us?They've sold us broken promises in every item they've made. The 2600+ is no different. I won't be buying it. Once Atari runs away our members, where will we go? How will we get in touch? What will happen to everyone who makes homebrew games? I am happy for AL. I do have a feeling that he will be able to keep things on track, but people plan to leave. It's happening. I don't trust Atari, most people seem to echo that. I'm hoping for the best, but preparing for the worst.
  5. Can't beat Morgan Freeman for the voice actor.
  6. I can tell you that EVERY ONE of the Champs game releases are excellent. You can't go wrong getting them all.
  7. It's a cash grab, plain and simple. It's what Atari is all about these days. They don't care about the community or what we want. They will end up ruining everything they touch.
  8. Turtle Trouble was the best game ever on the 2600.
  9. I'm not sure how low the humidity would need to be for me to feel safe with cardboard. I would try some clear plastic, like from 2 liter bottle. It can be cut, then heated with a hair drier to remove the curve. Then cut to size and fold. That's what I'd try.
  10. Foam may or may not release chemicals, but it can produce static electricity. Cardboard can draw in moisture. Honestly, I can't recommend anything, but I would be reluctant to use either of those.
  11. I didn't take it as an attack, I understand what you are saying. As for what I said, I don't see it as idiotic. I do Thank you for your concern for me, it means a lot. But, when it's my time to leave, that medication isn't goind to make a bit of difference. (The rest of the post is not directed at you.) People are flat out disrespecting the developers on this forum. Over what, a few dollars? $20 barely buys a cheap meal.. I can no longer eat any food I like. Think about the price of fuel now, do I find happiness in driving around? NO, it's painful just getting to my car. One of my medications costs OVER $800 a month. Does it actually do anything? I sure can't see any improvements. I don't get any happiness out any of those things. Now, consider that some of the complainers are willing to spend $15+ at Starbucks. Once you drink it, it's gone. You have that $20 rom to play forever. Stop being so entitled. The developers who made the games don't deserve being told their work isn't valuable enough to warrant their money. No one knows how much time they have left here. I'd rather show others that someone cares about their time and effort by giving them some money. It's only $20, not a million. I'd enjoy the roms, but at this point, I don't care if I get anything. I just want to show the people who make games that there ARE people who appreciate them. That would make me happy, roms or not. In the end, we all pass away. The money doesn't matter. People should do what they can for others and stop crying about $20 being too much. How do you REALLY want to be remembered when you're gone? I'm through with this thread. I'm putting it on my ignore list. It's too stressful for me. If you have something nice to say, please feel free to send me a message. If you don't like what I had to say, then I'm sorry. Don't message me to complain. I won't answer you.
  12. I have a feeling that the people who keep complaining and arguing aren't really aware of what goes into making a game. They want to throw a fit about prices and put down the developers. If you are really a fan of atari and want to keep it alive, support the great people who give us these new games. Without them Atari is dead. Appreciate the programmers. Try to understand them. They work hard and don't get the pay or thanks they deserve. The complete lack of common sense and empathy coming from some of you is shameful. Andrew makes clear and valid points. I totally understand what he's saying and I agree with him 100%. Now, back to the topic of roms. As I said before, I can't afford them or carts, but this thread has angered and hurt me so much, that I'm tempted to skip a months worth of one of the medications that keep me alive to to buy roms from the people that keep ammy hobby fresh and fun, like Champ Games, Andrew, and Albert, to name a few. I'm not even kidding. This life is short, do what makes you happy and be kind to those around you. If you dont, You'll regret it when they're gone.
  13. I' pay $20 for a great game, if I could afford it. Unfortunately, I can't even afford $5. I only have free roms. That's how life goes sometimes.
