  1. If you compare the c64 version and the Atari version you can see I tried to make full use of the ataris hardware, the two version look different. Glad to see it made it to the US and Canada though
  2. I wrote the Atari and c64 versions, wasn't expecting it to have made it across the pond
  3. Have any of you guys on the other side of the pond played (or even heard of) chuckle egg?
  4. I had a feeling this would be the case
  5. The keyboard wasn't working before I removed it so I doubt it's anything to do with the ribbon connector. I also tried swapping the ram chips round but not sure if they are accessed in parallel or sequentially, but regardless it didn't make any difference. I might have to buy a donor 600 and see if I can get it working by swapping parts.
  6. I recently got my old Atari 600XL out of the garage, this is the one i used to write Chuckie Egg on so it has sentimental value, and was hoping it might still work as my 800 still does. Unfortunately it has a few problems probably down to the damp British weather especially here in Manchester. The first thing i noticed is some of the keys don't work this maybe down to the keyboard connections which need cleaning (if possible), if not i may have to source a replacement keyboard. The second things is when doing the self test on the memory, the first 2 ROM blocks are fine and then rather than doing all the RAM blocks it comes up with the attached screen. I have opened it up and re-seated every IC on the motherboard, one of them did have what looked like corrosion on the legs which i cleaned up but i still get the same, so does anyone have any ideas or suggestions as to what is causing this and how to fix it?
