  1. 1) I, too, am pumped for this game 2) Easily one of the best thread titles EVER. Instant 👍🏼 😀
  2. Full story at the link: tinyBuild Inc (LSE:TBLD), the indie video game developer behind the popular ‘Hello Neighbor’ games, has warned investors it may fall into bankruptcy – if a funding and stake sale to Atari is not ratified by shareholders https://www.proactiveinvestors.com/companies/news/1038209/hello-neighbor-developer-tinybuild-urges-shareholders-to-back-funding-and-atari-investment-1038209.html#
  3. Yea, same here. I tried to think of some classics, but nothing's coming to me right now. Anyway, I agree with you @scifidude79. I love Cyberpunk 2077. Now granted, I did wait a year post launch until they had the native Series X/S version available for download (even though I had the game from the previous Christmas). But loved it. although I guess that's now the more prevalent opinion these days as the game had its 'redemption arc' LOL Anyway, what immediately came to mind for me was ReCore. I loved that game. It stands at a 63 on Metacritic. So while in this day and age it seems like anything less than an 80 is considered 'Bad', really it's just mixed opinion. That being said, I'd give this a solid 75-80 (if one were to measure in such ways ). Loved the world and lore, and honestly the gameplay really hooked me. And it was a solid AA release to boot (I think it released at maybe $40??). I really wish one of Xbox' studios would revisit this world someday.
  4. I think one of the hoops that you have to jump through is needing to add funds either on the web or PS4/5, and then using those funds on the PS3 Console Storefront. I'm pretty sure that you can't just use a credit card from within the PS3 store, which is kind of funny since as you mention @Atariboy, you can only purchase content from within the PS3 Storefront on the console itself. But agreed, at least it's still open, which is a definite positive.
  5. Thanks! That’s kind of what I was thinking, but thought I’d check. Was really hoping I’d hear “yea, they practically give these games away these days!” but deep down I kind of new better 😀
  6. I probably missed the best time to check this myself, during the holiday season. But does Sony still include PS3 games in the PlayStation store in the typical big Labor Day, Christmas, etc. sales? I think I want to shoot for owning all the Ratchet and Clank games on PS3. This will most likely be physical. That being said, I’m not adverse to picking any up digital if they were to go on heavy discount. I know that originally Sony was going to completely shut down the PS3’s storefront last year, so I wasn’t sure if they have simply forgone any sales on it these days.
  7. I wanted to get back to Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction, but for whatever reason I can no longer get the disc to read 😔. I think I was actually pretty close to finishing it a few years ago but put it down and hadn’t picked it up again. I mentioned in another thread that I’m making a concerted effort to give my PS3 more attention, so I moved to Kingdom Hearts (which is working just fine 🤷‍♂️ ).
  8. So I got my buddy’s PS3 for free when he upgraded to a PS4 (I’m still waiting for him to upgrade to PS5!! LOL). That must’ve been, I don’t know, maybe 7+ years ago? Over the years I’ve amassed a collection of games that I want to get to, but it just never seems to happen. I’m trying to make it more of a point to get play time on all my systems throughout the year, beyond my default Xbox. So in 2023 that meant Link to the Past on my SNES Classic, Paper Mario TTYD on my GameCube, and I’m pretty sure I finished Castle of Illusion on my Genesis Mini (if not 2023 then it was late 2022). But I still never got over to the PS3. Yesterday I made a point to rectify that. I had gotten 4-5 hours into Kingdom Hearts years ago, put it down for whatever reason and never got back to it. So I started a new game….looking forward to finishing it this time, and then to maybe whittle away at least 1 or 2 others from my PS3 backlog before moving switching gears again for a bit. I actually think I was super close to finishing Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction, and was going to go back to that. But my disc would not read. I was afraid it was the drive, but it read a copy of Max Payne 3 that I have just fine, and of course like I said Kingdom Hearts. Really weird….disc has no scratches on it and my kids are not little ones (plus they’ve never touched the PS3 anyway) so not sure what may have happened there. Really grinds my gears the thought of rebuying a game I already have 😒
  9. I’m not going to lie….at first I didn’t really understand this investment either. That being said, it’s possible that the point is to get Atari increased involvement in non-legacy IPs and up-and-coming gaming properties. I don’t believe that Atari wants to only update legacy IP…..I feel as though they are going for a multi-pronged approach. We’ve probably seen the least from this ‘non-legacy’ tent pole, but think Kombinera. And this deal may not be about what tinyBuild has so far, but what they have in their pipeline. So I highly doubt, given our public facing knowledge, we would even know or be able to surmise the entire thought process of why this might be a good fit for Atari. My 2 cents at least 😁
  10. Man, I really wish I hadn’t been on a long gaming hiatus during this time. I was just out of college and totally in a good position to pick up closeouts like crazy. It just never even came across my radar though 😒 I kind of feel like those days are behind us now. Which is definitely a good thing for the industry. Closeouts, liquidations and fire sales are never good for the industry. But damn if I don’t love’em LOL. Closest I’ve gotten was clearing off the shelves of Toys R Us for the phase 3 Disney Infinity figurines (kind of a double whammy since I think it was not only when Disney Infinity was being discontinued but also when Toys R Us was closing). Really happy I got those though….I still break them out periodically!
  11. I just saw this local CBS San Diego news feature on Atari come up on my YouTube feed. Not sure if a lot of others have already seen it, but I thought it was pretty cool so wanted to post with a link here at AA 😀
  12. Ok, one final game in under the wire 😃 Planet of Lana: Great game! It’s really all about the story and world building above all else. Puzzles are good, but there are long stretches sometimes between puzzles. But I liked the characters a lot so didn’t mind as much as I might otherwise. Clocked in maybe around 5-6 hours, so a nice quick satisfying jaunt overall. It was kind of funny….I kept thinking back to ReCore as I was playing this. Games are nothing a like from a gameplay perspective mind you. But just the feel of the worlds and even a bit of the stories are a lot a like. I REALLY wish XBox would revisit the world of ReCore. I know that ReCore wasn’t the best received game ever with a 63 Metacritic, but in my world that’s not a bad game per se. And with a little bit of time, if one of their studios wanted to build off of what I thought IMHO at least was a great world and story lore, I think they could have something special. Certainly a smaller scale game that would be perfect for Game Pass. Sorry, bit if a tangent 🤣
  13. Great year for Atari! I know that not all Atari games are exactly what everyone wants (par for the course for gamers LOL) BUT the fact that Atari is once again a true game maker, and can even make a video recap such as this (including teasers for what’s to come!!) makes this an incredibly exciting time for Atari fans, IMHO.
  14. Have you thought about purchasing from Japan via a buying service such as Buyee or something similar? I REALLY wanted a Spice Orange GameCube so I went that route, and couldn’t have been happier. In my case, I had to get a Japanese console since that variant was only released in Japan. But that being said, while there are no guarantees, I do feel as though Japanese consoles are generally in better condition. Also, I feel as though GameCubes are generally cheaper in Japan. I think for Saturn the difference is even more pronounced. I was installing the PicoBoot mod so region lock wasn’t an issue for me. But I feel as though I’ve read that you can get around that on Saturn a couple of different ways without hard modding it. Obviously something you’d want to investigate first. But I think it may be a route worth exploring.
